For once there is something everyone can agree on. Can't wait for some iccup maps to make it to the ladder.

kudos to foxer for trying to punish every zerg who think they can 14 hatch regardless of spawn position or build

So everytime you feel ashamed of being a nerd and your friends, teachers, neighbours and even parents think gaming is a waste of time you'll remember there's no such thing as wasting life as long as you have the courage to do what you like and be passionate about it.You'll remember , if NesTea listened to all those critics he wouldn't be standing there with a trophy and you'll remember that even if you feel nobody around you supports you that I, Jay, Artosis and Tasteless, everyone in GOM will support you.Why ? Because we believe in esports."

Encouraging nerds to pursue their dream in progaming is like encouraging black kids to play basketball, ultimately not the way to go. It's nice to see people like bongboy here do it, but be realistic.

While i love john, sc2, esports and nestea, i have to say taking 10 years to get a payout of 87k isn't 'that' great, considering getting a proper profession/career you can earn it in 1 year.

I know their are a lot more hopeful Progamers out there in Korea aiming for their dream but 95% of them won't get anywhere.

if your doing it for the money, then your doing it for the wrong reasons cause as you stated you can earn more money elsewhere. The real question is, how many of those people working from 9-5pm actually enjoy their work? The majority of people don't. Hell, even musicians and artists also earn nothing unless you make it big.

if nestea didn't enjoy what he was doing and earning shit all you'll have to say he would of not played sc2.

Foxer did what is necessary to win the game. Terran's strong point is its efficiency and flexibility of early harassment option. Since the recent patch, even that has been severely nerfed. I'd say that rather portraying Foxer as a cheesy bastard, he deserves recognition for showing us that there are greater potentials to each individual units than what meets the eye and that greed will not go unpunished.

On the other hand, I feel it is the general aim of all skilled Terran player to end the game at all cost, even if it means all in, prior to late game. If you have a reasonable fundamental understanding of the game mechanics, you would realize that an equally skilled high level Terran v.s. an equally skilled Zerg both running on three or more expansions with all tech trees available would mean death to the Terran. Zerg's late game macro system means that it can literally replenish a 200/200 army in an instant. Perhaps what is more scary than that is that Zerg is capable of tech switching the entire army in a blink.

Wow man what a sick finals. I bet 200$ that NesTea would win. It was so thrilling, a lot of nailbiting and shouting was involved. And when NesTea unbelievably took it home on game 7 I fistpumped so hard!

I'm going to guess that you were sweating it a bit at the beginning of game 7 when Foxer marine/SCV rushed and NesTea was 14 hatching.

I think you missed the point

there's no such thing as wasting life as long as you have the courage to do what you like and be passionate about it.

As heavenly as that sounds, doing something you love for 10 years and then ending up financially dependent isn't a good way of doing things. People should know when to quit.

And I'm still disappointed boxer lost. He had a very good chance to but nerves got the better of him. Comparing his micro in the ro8 and ro4 to finals, you can really see the difference.

great series went just as it should

First of all John is friggen awesome.

Secondly, great games, even as a protoss user, they still gave me great insight into the workings of high level rush play. Waiting for gsl3, and hopefully some protoss action!

FE before pool is free for zerg vs Terran. Terran can't stop it. GL Blizzard keep on the good job balancing the game!!

If I'm not mistaken we saw tons of games where this isn't the case at all in this GSL... and if I'm not mistaken ones in the finals? Are you only capable of remembering the last game you saw?

It was really great drone micro that caught the play incoming and delayed enough to get the lings out. It was then great drone/ling micro that held off the initial push. But terran is still plenty capable of 2 rax FE harass/bunker play for sure. Now Zerg actually has a chance to hold it off, unlike before when even incredible micro wouldn't matter.

Oh yeah and Foxer doesn't have an incredible micro, right? Final game showed us how it should be if both Terran and Zerg players play on the same level when a Zerg FE before pool vs a terran. The game where Nestea lost to that he didn't defend it the right way like last game.

He was probably adapting on the fly. Few players play like lil' BoxeR (though I expect more will in the future). Lil' BoxeR also overestimated the strength of his strategy against a novel counter.
I'd rather be zerg rushing

What is with all the idiots crying about the length of the games and blah blah about how much SC2 needs to grow? Do they know anything about SC history? I think I remember Jaedong vs ForGG being a pretty horrible one-sided rape and a series of pretty much nonstop hanbang attacks that ended things very quickly.

One of the JD vs Flash series consisted of multiple games of all-in ling aggression on JD's part. Another series consisted of Flash repeatedly going marine aggression timing attacks, with like 1 long game in the whole series.

It's just nonsense to comment on the state of SC2 over one fucking series. Stop being drama queens and use your eyes and mind. There has been plenty of late-game play in GSL 1 and 2. Ridiculous that so many people can talk so much bullshit.

Just look at how Shine played ultra-aggressive all-in builds nonstop and got very far in the OSL that one season. Did that mean the state of SC1 was undeveloped?

There are so many examples to disprove why it's a ridiculous notion to judge the state of the game on one finals series.
