That's where it gets a bit iffy. A tournament is in theory about determining the best player, in single elim this is easy because the winner has directly or indirectly beaten every other player. In double elim it gets a bit more complex and this specific situation, being knocked out by a player that you have a positive win record agains, it kinda detracts from the integrity of the tournament. Note that in most cases the extended series does not affect the outcome, it's pretty much only in this specific situation that it makes a difference. | ||
