because he's zerg? dunno if you've noticed, but most top zerg players keep all of their tech structures in case they do a huge army trade and then mass up counter units. so if he had somehow wiped most of those thors and had the funds, he could've made a bunch of mutalisks to take out scvs.
200/200 is not that much in the grand scheme of zerg play...

Watch the trumpets story in Daily 205 and tell me Day9 is not Christ himself. I make no apologies, I am a total Day9 fanboy. Regardless, I objectively think that HD is not at his level.

Don't waste your time saying anything that is contrary even in the slightest to the Christ figure image that people have of Day9 You can say whatever you want...but if it's incredibly f'ing stupid, expect people to call you on it. I essentially said you can't be good at a game you don't play. That says nothing about your potential to be good at it I agree with that. I think your logic about Day9 not giving his smurf account away was really bad though. He wants privacy, and if he tells his rating, he is going to lose all that privacy because people will figure it out. His reasons for having a smurf acct are his own.
But does absolutely no one knows his smurf? No other top player? It's either the best kept secret in the world then for no one to spill it even by accident, or he is planning on taking his smurf name to the grave. It's pretty insane when you can just set yourself to 'busy' like he has to do for his casting account every time he logs onto it. Why is it such a big deal for his playing account?
and for the record Day was legitimately good at BW when he played it, I don't doubt he could be one of the best American players, he's just not at all dedicated or focused

As Wheat said, thanks to the admins who made a lot more games in the first Winners Bracket to be casted. I'm happy they are learning from their mistakes.

Day9 is cool and all, but yeah, how does anyone know how good he is?
Seriously how does anyone know? Vods, replays?
HD is a cool guy props to him for fighting strong.

HuK disagrees.

Obviously he made the wrong choice on Metalopolis but I'm sure if he were watching that game being played, he would know to make roaches. It's just one of those things that happens when you're playing instead of watching, especially in a tournament environment. Brain farts happen. Yeah, exactly. I bet if he was casting it would be "DUH, ROACHES > THORS", but it just is a lack of experience as a player thing. He'll get better in time. It's weird as hell that he didn't make any. Like, he clearly knew he should because he dropped the Warren, but why wouldn't he just do it...? he also researched tunneling claws, might be because of so much gas

I'd like to understand why the hell are you guys comparing Day[9] and HD...

They really seem to favor root players for early matches..
his first match was against a 1200 diamond. It was one-sided and i am happy it wasnt streamed.

Honestly, for every person who says a player is good, another will say he's not. This argument goes nowhere, let's just enjoy the games.

And lol @ people saying Day9 is bad at SC2.
He's mentioned before that he's over 2000 points on ladder. All that while in Grad school, casting tourneys, and doing stuff for the community. Dude is probably one of the best players in NA that doesn't compete.
Huk takes advice from Day9 on how to play, that alone should tell you enough.
He is definitely good, but not top-level like Huk. Huk just asks him for advice because he knows alot about the game.
Knowledge doesn't necessary mean skill, look at Artosis for example (okay I think Day knows abit more but Artosis isn't a top player by any means)

Good lord, can we stop the talk about Day9 vs HD?
None of you know how good Day9 is at SC2 since I don't think there've been many, if any public games seen since the HDH. I'm not saying HD is better. I'm not saying Day9 is better. I'm saying that since you're all talking out of your asses on the subject that you should consider dropping it unless you have evidence to bring up.

Day9 was never a pro. Get real, haha. Day9 was never seen as a good player. He had a really gimmicky style. Also, he doesn't play SC2 at all. At least HDStarcraft tries to compete and hang in there. Even if he makes basic RTS mistakes, he can still win as SC2 is an easy game.
He is only popular because of Day9 daily. It's really sad to see that all these people new to SC think he's some really really good player.

Just because a building isn't useful now doesn't mean it can't be useful later. The utility of getting those minerals/gas back < having the future flexibility.
Making a spire when you see your opponent going mass thors is silly. He could have thrown down the infestation pit at that point and utilizied his neural parasite tactic much sooner.

Who is picking these games? Surely they would want to show the top seeds early to get interest going, so far we have only seen 1 seeded player in 4 games :S
