These technical difficulties can happen (even a kick at the PC ^^). I can also emphasize "with day[9] on requiring a little help from D.Apollo right then to cover his stressful situation."But there was no help by him. Through the whole event D.Apollo seemed relatively unsure, humble and bashful to me. I'm not criticizing him as a person (although it might sound like this), but as a guy with such an experience on huge stages he doesn't act that professional:
- He wasn't able to entertain in a difficult situation (which wasn't caused by him and shouldn't make him feeling shaky). - He even couldn't really speak to the audience (whether cam or arena) - Fondling the mic or holding it awkwardly. - Most of the time he searched for the helping hand of day[9] and focused him while talking. He literally gazed day[9] to death.
In his defence: Most of the time he "knows" (as far as a caster can at that point in the game development), what he's talking about. And that's the most important circumstance. Actually I have to take this back concerning the finals. There Apollo did a very good job and almost always circumvented his "blunders" =) "with day[9] on requiring a little help from D.Apollo right then to cover his stressful situation." What happened? I wasn't watching Day[9] hit the power button of his pc and that caused the game to shut down immediately. Without having an input from the ongoing match the cameras focussed the casters from then on (PC had to reboot; game -> restart). Day[9] literally was begging for help from D.Appollo. All he asked for was that D.Apollo should take the lead and talk to the audience (he even pointed to the topics on a sheet on the desk several times, as there wasn't a "proper" reaction from Apollo). But the latter just "put on his camouflage suit" and "crouched below the audiences' glances" and then almost tumbled from his seat as he feigned death. Extract the exaggeration, I'm clearly not objecitve at all
It was rather painful to watch. Esp. when Day[9] "jokingly" said his multitasking skills were out of shape. I mean, come on, take a "hint". I don't think he could have been more blunt.

Watched the finals live and it was fckn awesome! The crowd was insane and Day9 did a great job, as always. Game 3 and 4 was also two of the most entertaining games i have ever seen.
Didnt see much of the tournament except for the finals (other than some streams) so cannot really comment on that but the finals went really smooth.

Sad there was only 1.1k seats in the arena. So people couldn't watch the games in the arena. :/
How many watchers were there on the various streams?

How many watchers were there on the various streams? 25k on the main stream IIRC.

Update regarding the Naama vs Servant games. Apparently they accidently packed the machines down before they got the replays off. They will unpack Servant's machine and get the replays off it asap, once they're in my hands, I'll cast them.

I'm curious as to how that one replays site got a handful of the replays, including all of the finals, and why they don't have the rest of them?

I'm a bit wtf about this as well, particularly since the Dreamhack rules state no replays may be released until the Official Pack comes out.

Naama plays a crazy TvP style, very fun to watch!

Maybe the players uploaded those replays themselveS?

Wow, the noise cancellation they used to remove the crowd noise was quite good. At the locale one couldn't hear Day9 and d.Apollo at times due to the crowd. In this you can just barely hear the crowd at those moments.

I'd wish they'd both take a step back every now and then and do less play-by-play every now and then and give us an Artosis "here's what's going to happen" moment.

actually watched the final now... awesome games °.°

Boring games imho mainly because of banshee : protoss is forced to make a robotics facility and it's defence mode for all game long, it's so one sided :/ I didn't count but i think it was Naama (T) who attacked 90% of times (at least).
The only game interesting was + Show Spoiler +the fourth one without any banshee bullsh***, but with nukes and lots of action & pushes, and maybe the last minute of the third game with the great push from Mana who worked incredibly well

I thought Apollo was quite good. Charming, confident guy. Day9 is nerdycool, Apollo is classic cool. Great, great combo.

I have my doubts about this tournament.. in the last game one of the players could hear the commentators and they didn't even care.
Also, think of all the players who inevitably were NOT being honest about being able to hear the commentators? I don't know, I just wish they would have been more official about it.
