I dont get this. Korean protoss were the most stubborn I have ever seen in GSL1. Foreign protoss were already incorporating the HT tech switch while protoss in GSL1 just stuck with colossus. When the T got vikings... toss just got more colossus. Made no sense to me and I was screaming at my monitor at times.

I am at a measly 1400 matchmaking rating and I usually get just a couple colossus while getting HT tech.


But obviously you don't do it vs high level players if you are only 1400, and that is a completely different game. Did you watch any of MLG? Because I didn't see a single HT in PvT and I watched every casted game (didn't bother to watch every replay though)

So they lost to a single T, did they stick with colossus through and through or did they just die before getting a chance to switch? Obviously just getting colossus isnt a bad idea since HT takes so much longer to get ready and doesnt have the early re-usability that a colossus has, but if they held like several attacks and never transitioned out... then I stand corrected (though I swear I have seen foreign protoss using HT a lot before)


Well, part of the point I was making is taht it is much easier for a 1400 protoss to do something like go colossi into HT's than it is for a top level protoss to do so. I can't say that they had any great opportunities to switch (because i'm not good enough to know when you can make a switch vs a top level player), but it's the idea that they need to learn to find those openings to switch and learn to do so.

Not necessarily true. Once they start getting vikings the protoss just begins his switch to HT. If the terran doesnt respond with ghosts right away they lose. We just saw him do an even more difficult switch that is even more expensive than the one that I usually do (using immortals from double robo instead of just more gateways)
