ghost when the opponent doesnt have any templars or immortal ??
its a LOT of gas for not much One immortal had 21 kills, another one had like 12 kills. Not because theyre so strong, they were simply more in the back and hard to reach, a emp wouldnt have changed much. Were talking about 300/250 to ''maybe'' help kill 2 units. To me ghosts are just like templars, sure they are both ''the best'' unit in PvT, but they reprensent such a big investment that you cant just get them that easily in a game where every unit counts. What?? What do you mean only kill 2 units? Well placed EMP take shield and energy away. The faster the stalkers at the front fall the faster you can deal with the immortal and no energy is no FF which would make sentries a pile of trash. Maybe you can only kill 2 units because you emp some standing alone immortal. It takes away 100 shield, over stalkers and zealot that is really not much for the investment. (for the price of that ghost, he can have 3-4 more stalkers, which is way more hp then what your emp will have done). Also, I think a big reason why Select doesnt go ghost is because he doesnt usualllly go for straight upfront engagement, and splitting ghosts with every little forces he sends would be useless. He needs all the money he can get so that his main force that goes against the protoss army is as big as possible (since its usually split in half because of drops on the side)
I guess not using ghost is SeleCT's style but saying ghost is not worth is really wrong. When units clump up the way Kiwiwaki kept them 1 EMP would easily hit 1 immortral, 2 stalkers and 2 zealots or even more. That would be 100+120+80 damage INSTANTLY if I remember the shield correctly. It would take 20 shots of marauders fire to deal the same damage. How is this not worth it?

Huk vrs Idra would be better. Rematch Rematch!

That would never happen in the GSL. I'm furious. Maybe because in GSL the guy only have to play one BO3 or BO5 each day.... and not play games all day like in mlg so get real... Venues are more expensive here and spectators are still free. It's less than ideal that the players get the short stick but honestly this schedule is the only one that works for the space and time constraints. It would be nice if Warcraft and Starcraft were each big enough to get their own space which might happen if there are enough people watching to attract more sponsors.
It's not that.. it's that North America and Europe are so spread out in general.. If we had a GSL style where you play about 1 round of whatever a week in one stationary studio.. and the tournament took a month,... People would have to buy multiple plane tickets for a single tournament. The only way it would ever work is if everyone moved to one city and then established their lives there.. Might as well move to Seoul Korea if that's what your going to do.. which Is why I don't expect to have gsl style tournaments here..(or pro-leagues).. MLG style and IEM style where you travel, set up shop, and have a big tournament over a weekend.. works for us North Americans at least..
Now.. I could imagine some kind of online tournament casted + going on for a while like a month similiar to GSL. but I can't see a live casted on site tournament every day for a month.
(MLG has their own space/and can set up production studios.. they just don't have a reason too.. since their player base lives all over the place)

And lets not forget that Huk was undefeated up until he was matched against IdrA.

I went away for a few hours and now we have a korean playing in MLG??

I really want to support MLG and eSports, but somebody screwed the pooch on the in-game quality for a 2.2mbps stream. I admit, the HD out-of-game stuff is better than before, and the interviews off-set the nauseating number of commercials. Nonetheless, I paid for higher quality games more than higher quality IdrA furrowing his brow.
The games are amazing though, but that's the players -- not MLG.
Prepare to get called all sorts of insults for daring to complain about a product you paid hard-earned money for ... TL: nazi apologists (practically). I agree, from the initial delay yesterday to the AWFUL quality -- you're right, it's just complete shit and not worth paying for.
The games are amazing, the players are beyond skilled -- but that doesn't mean the tech folks at MLG get a pass for the absolute shit they put forward.

Why can't they just wear the clothes they want to wear?
Um, turn on Eurosport or something, sportscasters wear that everywhere.
Yeah, MLG is trying to ape ESPN a bit too much for my tastes, but "Americanish" is just a weird thing to say.

Pretty awesome that 1 terran, 1 protoss, and 1 zerg are left standing.

I just want a PvZ final....

I don't think there is any chance that Idra doesn't win. He already 2-0 HuK and his ZvT is super good and I don't think Select's be all over the place and just rally units right to his base style is going to work against Idra. He has a lot of experience dealing with players who try to be super agressive against him.

Why can't they just wear the clothes they want to wear? Its an American tourney.... The Halo casters, etc. have to do it too. I'm assuming it's cause they want to break into the mainstream, etc., with major non-gaming sponsors (Dr. Pepper, etc., everyone you see in the commercials), and MS backing them up, they want to appear professional rather than stereotypical gamers. It's interesting because they apparently are worth 42 million yet the prize money for halo is 25k for 4 players (100k for championships next month), 8k for SCII (more for championships, undecided), and the Reach winners get nothing except pay for the next tourney and seeding for next season.

I would love for Huk to go through but i'm really not sure how well he would fare (again) against idra. I actually want to see Select's TvZ.
