Why the hell are they in the same bracket? This is so unfair for me... out of the rest I only care for inca and top (same bracket those two) *sobs* No argument with tester, Cool would have to be the top zerg, and not sure about terran. Personally i think the top korean terrans about the same as morrow, demuslim, bratok. Hope some of the top "foreiners" go to next gsl. Really? I think all of those European players would have almost no chance of beating the likes of Cool, Tester, STC, etc...maybe we need a showmatch?
Remember the showmatches between TLO and Nada at gamescom? Last I remeber TLO is also playing terran. And how!

That is the absolute worst possible example you could have chosen out of all european and SK matches lol.

I feel that Cool is very very solid, but Check just makes zerg look so fun. Who else throws down 200/200 worth of lings and banelings and comes out ahead? ITR is the same deal - his terran is so much more fun to watch. I really like TLO, but he's got a tough fight to get past Tester if he makes it past his round. It's also unfair for me that he's in that same bracket.

I'm sure you've seen a handful of ultras rape infinite stalkers, or a few hydras holding off a 4gate.
If you look at zenio's reaction after that defeat.. I cannot help but feel sorry for him.. but is that the face of someone who lost to imba? If I knew anything, that's the face of someone who knew he threw the game away.... Few Hydras holding off 4 gate? I dunno if you have tested it, but hydras aren't cost effective vs stalkers..... Zerg simply is supposed to be the reactionary race, yet its the one with the least hard counters. hydras are very cost effective vs. all gateway units as long as you match his numbers. I don't know what you're doing wrong. Maybe a-moving your army would help? no race can go with 1 build and win. All 3 races are reactionary. Just because you labelled yourself as the reactionary race doesn't mean you're entitled to anything. Play with what you have and just enjoy the game. Hydra: 80 HP, 12 damage, 0,83 attack rate, 0 armor Stalker: 160 HP, 10 damage, 1,44 attack rate, 1 armor Notice how the stalker has twice the HP + armor while having more than half of the Hydras dps (because the hydras dps gets lowered considerably by that 1 armor). So no, Hydras are NOT cost effective vs Stalkers. The fact that stalkers have 6 range and high speed right away make it even worse.
Unit density plays a role as well and that actually makes hydra very good against stalkers. You can simply get more hydra in the same amount of space as you can stalkers and that increases their DPS. With armies of these two units having good position is by far the most important factor in even battles.
I watched the Zenio game and boy did he screw up. I was watching him throw those hydra away and thinking "what the heck is he thinking?" I mean it was the worst decision I've seen a player make in the tournament so far. He needed the corruptors out earlier (and in greater numbers) and with his extra expansions going up would have won the macro war.
I really wanted to see more zerg go through but the truth is that both Zenio and IdrA have thrown away games at key moments.
Also, I loved tankboy's harass on scrap station. It really was some of the best terran play you'll see (forgetting his silly little refinery problems at the start of the game).

Probably not the best place to post this, but do you really have to pay to watch all 3 sets of a matchup? Everywhere I read, it says you need to pay for HQ, leaving me to assume LQ would be free. Do you have to pay for LQ as well?

yes the only legal way to watch VODs of sets 2 and 3 is to pay $20

The SC2 main site says the new patch is going to come out on Tuesday, I wonder how this is going to affect the GSL as it might fudge up a lot of player's strategies and they'll pretty much no time to practice/develop new ones.
I actually thought that blizzard would make up some excuse and delay the patch until after the GSL season 1 and before GSL season 2. I'd hate to see blizzard sabotage their own tournament esp if there are unannounced big changes in the patch.

2 zergs in the top 16, with a max of 3 possible...wow.. Hope ATLEAST 1 makes it to top 8.

people are saying zergs are getting killed because of T. but Zerg has eliminated 3 P(inclufing 2 no shows) and 3 T and P has eliminated 6 Z and T has eliminated 6 Z (inclufing 1 no show).
So Zerg is 1-6 in matches vs toss and 3-5 in matches vs T.

Which makes Cool's comments about ZvP being a harder matchup than ZvT make a little more sense.
The real interesting thing is - Patch 1.1 launches Wednesday... won't that be like Ro16 Day 2?

Tuesday and Wednesday is a holiday in Korea, so no games. It's the Moon Festival in Taiwan, not sure what the holiday is over there. Works out perfectly actually since it'll be in the down time between the RO32 and 16.

On GomTV.net:
The Korean Thanksgiving holiday is next week from Sept. 21st (Tues.) to Sept. 23rd (Thur.). Therefore there will be no matches during the three days of the holiday. Final matches of Ro32 will be held on Sept. 20th (Mon.) and the first matches of Ro16 will begin after the holiday on Sept. 24th (Fri.).
I wonder if Blizzard and GomTV discussed this... In anycase players have a couple of days to see what the patch brings.

So my premium Gom account deleted itself when I used the change password form on their website.
Has anyone had this problem besides me?

I don't understand why they would distribute the GSL prize pool this way:
Total $170,000 1st $85,700 2nd $25,700 3rd $8,600 4th $8,600 5th-8th $3,400 9th-16th $1710 17th-32nd $430 33th-64th $260
( http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/GOMTV_Starcraft_II_Open_1 )
It's so skewed to first (85k for #1 vs 25k for #2?!) and third and fourth both get the same amount. These numbers don't make any sense at all -- I'd love to know who came up with them and how/why.
