Please take me out of this event I don't want to be associated with this. Do you know what a martyr is? Also, put me down as a vote for Debo: great player, great stream, and always yelling the N-word, what more could you ask for?
I don't feel like reading all the pages again, but where the heck does it say in the OP to post a video on your youtube channel telling all your viewers to go post on TL and vote for you to play? It says, drag your favorite caster here to sign up. All these people new to the TL community making new accounts to vote for you is weird. All you had to do was post as yourself and sign up.
Chill ignore their garbage. I want you in this tournament. It would be fun to have the chance to play a caster like you :-) In case you are ignoring this thread now, i'm gonna PM you too.

I can't speak for the other new posters, but I'm not entirely new to the TL community. I've been using the site and lurking since March, and I probably visited occasionally when I played BW years ago too. I made an account because Sahara isn't as well known as other casters I like who are pretty much guaranteed to be in this.
I don't check all the boards obsessively, and so I'm glad Sahara did alert his viewers to this particular thread as I would have missed it before the deadline. In fact, I would say he would have done his viewers a disservice had he not made the announcement because a lot of us really enjoy his particular style of casting and feel it would add something different to this tourny.
EDIT: It should also be noted that Sahara didn't post a video to specifically tell all his viewers to vote for him here. It was a 15 second announcement (among a couple others) at the start of a cast.

Debo is fine. Just match him with Trump in the First Round.

So Chill complains about martyrs as he martyr's himself? Am I understanding this right? + Show Spoiler +
Edit: Doesn't that warrant a temp ban as well? Or does it have to be a more serious martyrdom like what Never_GG did?

I just don't think asking, verbally, during a commentary, for less than 10 seconds, for my viewers to come help me out (when the OP of the tourney explicitly says casters will be picked by if people request them...) is wrong or bitching or martyrdom or whatever other completely non-sensical words were chosen...I mean, I said "hey guys, this tourney looks really fun, and I'd love to be in it, stop by the thread and let them know if you wanna see me in it." That's it. How is that a big deal?

I don't understand where your anger is coming from exactly, unless I missed part of the thread.
I suggested SaharaDrac for this when the thread was first made because he is genuinely an entertaining caster. I didn't personally see any youtube video insisting that I do so.
Sahara has been producing content since the very beginning of beta in the exact same fashion as HD and Husky, except he provides commentating in a less accessible manner than HD and Husky (as he is geared more towards adults), and thus is less popular in terms of viewer volume. He has been part of the sc2 community since the start, whether he frequents TL or not.

As a matter of fact, SaharaDrac posted in this thread to sign up when the list was almost empty. He was completely and utterly ignored. When the tournament admin made a post about not wanting streamers, but rather casters, he explained that he was a caster. If you've ever watched any of Sahara's commentaries, you'd know just by hearing him speak that arrogance is not present in his personality.
Sure, if expressing his desire to participate on youtube, in the face of being ignored by the tournament admin, leads to a bunch of new accounts being made by "Non-TLers" to show their support for him, it might be considered a bit silly. However, I feel it is far worse to allow rampant elitism to prevent an excellent supporter of the starcraft 2 scene like Sahara from being given a warm welcome to Team Liquid, which is what's happened here.

They might not be that popular overall at Teamliquid itself, but they had put out a lot of quality content for their youtube channels as well as for SCLegacy's channel since the start of the beta, so I hope they'll get added to the list. right, i did not add some people so far, just because they areprobably no tournament casters. i am not sure, but probably i throw them into the streamer pool.
I like Saharadrac. During beta before my invite, I watched all his casts.
Forsti gave his reasoning why he hadn't added ANYONE else to the lists, because he was figuring out details, like who will go in what division, and how many people were gonna compete.
There was only about 24 hours or less between Saharadrac signing up all of these people pouring in to 'vote'. Give Forsti time to figure stuff out, hes organizing/running this on his own time. That's the only part I thought was rude. Sorry if it came off as a personal attack.

Martyrdom is suffering for your cause, ie. proclaiming you will be banned for your views. There's nothing wrong with withdrawing from an event because you don't like how it is going.
Secondly, Never_GG organized an event and then canceled it because she didn't like how someone talked to her. I haven't organized anything here, so you should easily be able to see the situations aren't the same.

You're staying in this tourney Chill, if not for yourself, do it for your fans!!!!
Don't be so selfish! You and DJwheat are the only big personalities in that list and it'd suck to see more randoms take your place.
To be frank, it was said that the casters should be known by the general TL public.. but that would leave us with like 50% of that caster list as far as I can tell..Just beacuse they have a youtube page and streams tournies on regular basis it doesn't automaticly make them known or appreciated by TLs users.
For future events it'd be great if the tourney was smaller, 8 spots and more "stacked" and known casters. For example
HD, Husky, Chill, DJWheat, Day9, Artosis, Tasteless and Psyonic/Totalbiscuit.
I think those would ring a bell in any TL users ears. It would make for more entertaining matches and casts beacuse you know the casters much more than the other ones. They also all have really big personalities which helps.

So that means the newer casters that haven't gotten the airtime/publicity that some have, aren't appreciated? So you are saying there should only be those 8 or 9 casters and the rest can pretty much crawl in a corner and die?
Tell me, which of those casters you listed, would even take a second glace at some of these smaller tournaments with smaller prize pools? None. Who will cast those tournaments and help promote esports? Nobody. Oh wait. Yes. Casters like myself, makh, joshsuth, and others, put our time on the line to help the community, but shouldn't be recognized for it? Hmm. Sounds like you don't want esports or the SC2 community to grow.

I feel like there is a huge range of skill in this tourney.
would it be a bad idea to propose a handicap?

The former is that the tournament should be household TL names, and the latter is that some people have earned a spot to be in this tournament.

What are you even talking about? I dont give a fuck about people "deserving" to be this tourney beacuse they've done alot work for minor tournies. It was stated that it should be casters known by the general TL public.. and most of these are not.
This isn't some best caster rewards 2010 event where all your hard work is rewarded. Its a tourney for TL.nets household caster to put on a good show for their fans..
I dunno why you make yourself look like some sort of victim just beacuse you as a new caster don't get the same attention as the veterans in the starcraft scene.. it is what it is. I'm just stating what would make it the most fun and exciting tourney for the general TL users..no offense to all you lesser known, hard working casters out there.

I truly hate to get in to get in the middle of a the fight but didnt Henning save spots for those kinds of people? I know at first I saw reserved for people like Tasteless, Day[9], Artosis...Then I saw people demand people like you and HDH and so on...and then us, lesser known casters...threw our own 2 cents in to hope to have a chance in this tourny. So how was it not opened to TL house names first off? I really hate to come off as thought I am trying to pick sides, but do you really feel this is unfair?
If there is someone else you think that deserves a spot more, than a person already signed up on the list..Why not just say "I feel ___ would be better in this tournament than ___, do to the commitment to the Starcraft community."... Then again, maybe I am looking about this all at the wrong way... However, I really do hope you will participate in this tournament Chill. With that, I will end this post. Sorry for adding my two cents worth in.

@Tesla I think you are misreading Chill's post, or I could be... but in that case I'm right anyway XD. Anyway, it looked to me like Chill was just responding to someone complaining about not enough big names and too many of us little guys on the list.

Cant we get the show on the road already!!!
I thought this thing would be fun and simple to set up compared to other tournies??? The organiser sorts out who plays who and links the VODs (kinda simple really) while the casters do the rest basically (playing whilst casting n recording then uploading). Reward for the casters is self-promotion and a massive chance to get your name out there to those that dont know you. If casters dont want to do it/havnt got time etc then give their opponent a bye. I feel I might start losing interest in this soon if things arnt sorted.
Please Forsti.henning can you sort this out??? Get this thing moving please!!! This isnt gonna be another HDH2........ if you need help PM me or ask someone who has run a tournament before.
Btw to my knowledge Crota is a caster only. He has a youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/BlizShouter)
