I'm a little confused here, maybe you can clear this up for me.
1) The rules are almost (are exactly?) the same as the SGL's rules 2) It's being run while the SGL is being run 3) One of your current (former?) clanmates helps run the SGL
So is this just competition for the SGL, but with a prize at the end? Basically I'm asking why the teams in the SGL would want to spend the time and energy to sign up and play all of matches for another league. If I'm missing something here please let me know. I'm not trying to be attacking your league, and not saying that I wouldn't work to sign up Inflow, but I'm just trying to figure out if there is a significant difference between the SGL and SCL besides an undisclosed prize.

There is basically no difference at all so far. There might be more teams introduced, and different prizes. Its basically just another means to showcase your skill and participate in multiple CWs.
NrG. signed up ^_^~

That whole "team" is based around admins, Worpex the creator of nG, was the creator of FML (FFA Masters League) and WCOlympics. Baronfel, their longest player is a web admin for the WCOlympics, I once had a vital role of being the team manager, and during my tenure was admin of the WCOlympics, and afterward becoming greatly involved in prominent wc3 leagues, IGLeague.net, and WGSeries.com (although they had a fail SGL, id like to note i had no part in it besides participation). Beast who took over management become a vital admin in WCL, who soon had the entire set of reins handed over to him, which he handled with extreme political savvy even though he was in less than disrespectful positions due to a prior admin. After Beast has had his hand in the American wc3 scene and is one of the reasons its heart is still beating as hard as it is.
Why GnR made a team league, i have no clue, thats why stoic, my team, decided to opt out of a position in the qualifiers, SCL seems like it will be worth the work to me, simply because of the rapport I have with Beast even though I've only worked with him on a professional level a bit, since my team arirang just entered his international based league this season.
I hope that clarifies it, theres no competition between the two, they are simply two people with tons of resources willing to give back.

Thank you Holcan, he pretty much said everything.
I will repeat, we have no animosity towards SGL, GnR played on nG (the team I manage for both wc3 and sc2) and he wanted to start his own league. I allowed him to look over my rules so he had a idea of what they should look like and how he should start his own league. I've been giving him advice to set up his league and he's done pretty much everything else himself and a great job at that for his first time.
I'm trying (and so is GnR) creating leagues that plan to be around for a long time in the american scene. If you followed WC3, WCL has been around 8 season, ICE/ICL has been around for 9, WCO 5 Season, ect ect as you can see I want to establish good competition for American Teams.
The point of leagues is for teams to have regular competition to play against high level players, while being able to win prizes. Leagues are really fun, I've only been around wc3 league scene for close to 8-9 months, and just recently got into SC2. SCL is a great site and I really hope we create a great community and following.

If Beast said there will be a prize, there will be, he is very honest, from the post it sounds like he is just trying to figure out if it will be divided amongst the top teams, and how, or if it will be winner take all.
