- How do you feel about making it through with all wins?
▲ I'm happy I made it to the tournament with defeating everyone.
- You've been doing well in StarCraft II tournaments
▲ I got 2nd in IEM in Germany, and before that I won the King of Kings End of Beta Tournament.
- You're still CJ player as far as I know, did you have any problems entering the league?
▲ I was in CJ, but I left already. My contract ends the 31st of this month, and since it's almost over, I joined GSL.
- Have you decided a new team to join?
▲ I want to join a team not associated with KeSPA. I don't have a specific team yet.
- You were Terran in SC1, why did you switch to Zerg?
▲ I thought about changing race in SC1 since Terran didn't fit me, and I felt that Zerg fit my style better than Protoss. That's why I chose Zerg.
- What do you think is attractive about the Zerg race?
▲ I like playing games having good economy and large armies, and I think Zerg fits that description the best.
- What do you think about the balance?
▲ It's difficult to defend early rushes as Zerg, but I think the balance is getting better after every patch.
- Where are you living in Korea?
▲ I'm still in CJ house, but I'm leaving soon. I think I'll stay with a friend until I find a team.
- Your goals and determination for this GSL

- How do you feel about making it to Ro64?
▲ I was nervous since it was a big tournament, and I think I got in pretty easily.
- You play Terran, which is thought to be better in terms of balance compared to the other races.
▲ I think it's good right now, but since I heard that there will be a patch soon, I'll need to go back to the beginning and practice hard. I don't think things until now will matter anymore, and I don't think Terran will get stronger in the future. It's not good for me (laughs).
- Why did you join oGs?
▲ I beat TheWinD hyung in the brain box tournament, and he recommende me to the team. I went as soon as I got invited (laughs). I'm living with him in the team house.
- You're the first from your team to advance.
▲ The rest of the players will definitely make it, so I'll need to start getting nervous. I think I'll meet them in the main tournament.
- Your determination for GSL?
▲ You ask me this every time, and I don't have much to say. I'll just try my best. Of course my goal is 1st place, but I'm happy I got through the qualifiers.

- 64강 본선에 진출한 소감은
▲ 대회라 긴장하고 왔는데, 준비한 것에 비해 부전승도 하고 쉽게 올라간 것 같다.
- 밸런스에서 우위에 서 있다는 평가의 ‘테란’으로 플레이 중인데
▲ 지금이 딱 좋은 것 같은데, 곧 패치가 된다는 소리를 들으니까 처음으로 다시 돌아가서 열심히 해야 할 것 같다. 이제까지 한 것은 의미 없는 것 같고, 앞으로 테란이 더 좋아질 일은 없는 것 같다. 큰일났다(웃음).
- oGs 소속으로 활동하게 된 계기가 있나
▲ 예전에 브레인 박스 대회에서 (박)상익이 형을 이긴 적이 있는데, 그 뒤로 상익이 형이 추천을 해주셨고 게임을 하다 보니까 팀에서 나를 불러주셨다. 그래서 바로 달려갔다(웃음). 숙소에서도 함께 생활하고 있다.
- 팀에서 가장 먼저 본선에 진출했는데
▲ 남은 형들은 무조건 올라오실 거니까 이제 나도 긴장을 해야 할 것 같다. 본선에서 만나게 될 것 같다.
- GSL에 임하는 각오는
▲ 각오를 매번 물어보시는데 진짜 특별히 할 말 없고, 그냥 열심히 하겠다는 생각 밖에 없다. 당연히 우승이라는 목표를 갖고 나오긴 했지만, 일단은 예선을 통과해 마음이 편하다.

- How do you feel about making it to Ro64?
▲ Ro64 was my goal and I'm happy I made it. I'm confident in my ZvT, so I hope I meet a Terran player next game.
- You've never been a professional gamer, but you're one of the top Zerg players.
▲ People say Zerg is worse than other races balance wise, but I think the balance is good in the higher levels. I think Zerg is just difficult for beginners. ZvP is a tough matchup for me.
- Did you have trouble today?
▲ The last game was a little difficult, but the rest were worse than the players I practiced with. I think I had good luck in the brackets. No one was a former progamer.
- You must look forward to the new patch.
▲ I'm excited, but I heard the patch is coming after GSL. I think the 5 second increase in Zealot making time was a very good idea (laughs).
- I heard you're still a student, how will you prepare for GSL?
▲ I'm in Zenith clan, and unlike oGs and Prime, Zenith is an amateur clan. We devise our own strategy, and I think I made it thanks to my clanmates. I think I can get farther if I continue practicing with them.
- Your ID is still "miso"
▲ I'll use my Zenith clan name once the name change comes around. It was because I wasn't in Zenith when I made the account.
- Your determination for the GSL?
▲ I will as much as I can and get to Ro16 to show the power of the Zenith clan.

- 64강 본선에 오르게 된 소감은
▲ 목표가 64강 이었는데 오르게 돼서 일단 다행이라고 생각한다. 테란전이 자신 있는 편이라서 다음 경기에서도 테란을 만나면 좋겠다.
- 프로로 활동한 경력이 없지만, 저그 상위 랭커로 활약 중이다
▲ 저그가 밸런스 상으로 많이 안 좋다고 하는데, 상위권에서는 어느 정도 밸런스가 맞는 것 같다고 생각한다. 다만 종족 자체가 조금 초보의 벽이 높아서 안 좋다는 이야기가 많은 것 같다. 밸런스를 떠나서 개인적으로는 프로토스전이 어렵다.
- 오늘 경기 중 고비는 없었나
▲ 마지막 경기만 조금 어려웠고, 나머지는 일반 연습 게임 했던 선수들 보다는 다소 쉬웠던 것 같다. 다행히 대진운은 상당히 좋았다. 프로게이머 출신의 선수들은 없었다.
- 조만간 패치가 진행될 예정이라 기대가 클 것 같다
▲ 기대를 많이 갖고 있다. 그런데 GSL이 끝나고 나서 패치를 한다고 들어서 그 점은 아쉽다. 광전사 생산이 5초 늘어난 것은 아주 개념이라고 생각한다(웃음).
- 아직 학생이라고 했는데, 준비는 어떻게 할 생각인지
▲ 내가 제니스 클랜에 소속 돼 있는데 제니스는 oGs, Prime 같은 팀들과는 다르게 아마추어 클랜이다. 그래도 우리 나름대로 전략 같은 것도 많이 연구하고 있는데, 팀원들이 잘 도와줘서 올라온 것 같다. 앞으로도 팀원들과 연습하면 더 높이 올라갈 수 있을 것 같다.
- 아직 아이디는 ‘miso’를 사용 중인데
▲ 아이디 변경 기간에 제니스 클랜 이름을 넣을 예정이다. 초창기 멤버가 아니라서 그렇다.
- GSL에 임하는 각오 한 마디
▲ 무조건 많이 이기고 16강까지 올라 제니스의 위상을 높이겠다.

- How do you feel about making it to Ro64?
▲ I went to oGs house yesterday to practice, and I think it helped. I just played 3 PvP matches, and it was tough.
- Why is PvP tough?
▲ I think PvP is more all-in than skill. I want to play a Zerg in Ro64. Zerg is just a meal to me (laughs).
- What made you switch to SC2?
▲ I didn't care about SC2 when it first came out, but I started after hearing about GSL. I thought about it a lot. I didn't get what I wanted in the contract, and since I can earn just as much if I make Ro32 in GSL, I decided to play SC2.
- Didn't you change not only because of the money, but because you were doing well?
▲ I tried it and I got to 900 on ladder. The max then was 1100, and after seeing my Korean rank, I got confident and decided to switch.
- Why did you join oGs?
▲ I don't think the team is that important, but Bright invited me. Since oGs players are good, I joined with the mindset to learn.
- You must have a strong determination since you gave up progaming for this.
▲ Since I joined oGs, I will get to at least Ro4 to hold up the name of the clan. I want to earn a lot of money for my mother.
- Who do you want to avoid the most?
▲ Of course, Tester. Also my teammates. Outside of my team, I want to avoid Jung Min Soo(ID?).
- You switched unexpectedly. A word to your fans?
▲ The comments on the article about my switch had 50:50 good and bad replies (laughs). I want to thank those who supported me, and I don't regret playing SC1 professionally, since I learned a lot from being with the team. I hope the SC2 fans cheer me on from now on.

- 64강에 진출한 소감은
▲ 하루 전에 oGs 들어가 숙소에서 특훈을 했는데, 잘 된 것 같아 기쁘다. 방금 프로토스전만 세 판 했는데 굉장히 힘들었다.
- 프로토스전이 힘들었던 특별한 이유가 있나
▲ 프프전은 거의 실력 싸움 보다는 올인성이 강한 것 같다. 그래서 난 64강에 올라가면 저그와 만나고 싶다. 저그는 한 끼 식사일 뿐이다(웃음).
- 스타2로의 전향을 결심 하게 된 계기가 있다면
▲ 그냥 스타2가 처음 나왔을 때는 반응이 시큰둥 했는데 GSL 이야기를 접하고 스타2를 시작하게 됐다. 사실 많이 고민을 했다. 연봉 계약 때 적절한 연봉으로 협상이 이뤄지지 않았는데, GSL 32강 안에만 들면 연봉만큼 상금을 받을 수 있어서 스타2로 전향하게 됐다.
- 연봉 문제도 있겠지만, 실력이 따라줘서 전향을 결심한 것 아닌가
▲ 플레이를 해봤는데 래더 900까지 점수가 올랐다. 당시 맥시멈이 1100 이었는데 나의 국내 랭킹이 점점 높아지는 것을 보며 자신감이 생겼고, 전향해도 잘 할 수 있겠다 싶었다.
- oGs에 입단하게 된 이유는 무엇인가
▲ 팀에 들어가는 것은 크게 중요하다고 생각하지 않았는데, (김)성곤이 형과 스타2 하다가 친해졌고 진지하게 ‘올 생각 없냐’고 물으셨다. oGs 팀원들이 모두 잘 해서 배우기도 할 겸 들어가게 됐다.
- 프로게이머를 포기하고 전향을 한 만큼 각오가 남다를 것 같다
▲ 일단 oGs에 들어갔으니까 명문팀의 이름을 더럽히지 않게 최소 4강까지는 갈 것이다. 그리고 솔직히 내 자신을 위해서 열심히 한 것도 있는데, 돈을 많이 벌어서 어머니께 효도하고 싶은 생각이 더 크다.
- 본선에서 피하고 싶은 선수가 있나
▲ 제일 피하고 싶은건 역시 서기수 선수다. 그리고 같은 팀원들은 다 피하고 싶다. 우리 팀이 아닌 선수 중에서는 정민수 선수만 피하면 될 것 같다.
- 갑작스레 전향을 결정했는데, 팬들에게도 한 마디 한다면
▲ 전향 기사 밑에 달린 댓글을 보니까 욕하는 분도 있고 잘했다는 분도 있고 딱 5:5로 나뉘더라(웃음). 격려해주신 분들께 감사드리고, 스타1에서는 많은 활약을 못 했지만 팀 활동을 하며 여러가지 연습은 많이 된 것 같아서 후회 하지 않는다. 이제는 스타2 팬 분들이 많이 응원해주시면 좋겠다.

▲ I'm happy I made it. This is the beginning, and I will prepare well.
- You played Protoss in SC1, but you're Terran in SC2.
▲ My friends all played Zerg and Protoss on SC2. I picked the one that the least amount of people around me were playing. Back then, Terran was bad, so a lot of people switched races. I picked Protoss in SC1 because not that many people were playing it.
- What's the most attractive about terran?
▲ There are a lot to control. Units like reaper, thor, and viking are unique and fun to control. One big battle used to decide the winner, but now there are a lot of good strategies out.
- You won easily today, what's your goal for the tournament?
▲ I think I need to play harder. There is a lot at stake, and it will be fun, so I want to win first place.
- How are you doing in the ladder?
▲ I'm about 1300 points in diamond, and 4th in Blizzard ranking.
- Who do you think will be your rival?
▲ I don't know. Proabably Tester, Cool, (two other players). I don't know because there aren't that much information about the players. I think it will be difficult to play against ex-progamers since they have good concentration.
- What did you do after you quit progaming?
▲ I had a lot of free time. I was doing something else, and when I saw SC2, I tried it out. I was doing better than I expected, so I continued playing. I quit at 3rd closed beta, but when I heard about GSL, I wanted to try and get 1st place.
- What clan are you in currently?
▲ I am in oGs, and I'm not planning on joining a team. I don't want to be a progamer, I just want to enjoy it. I have a job, so I don't have time to be a progamer anyway.
- You still have a lot of fans.
▲ Thank you for cheering me on and I will repay with fun games.

- 8전 전승으로 64 진출에 성공했다
▲ 어쨌든 통과해서 기쁘고, 이제 시작이니까 준비 잘 해보려고 한다.
- 스타1 때는 프로토스였지만, 스타2에서는 테란을 선택했는데
▲ 스타2가 나온 뒤에 주위 친구들과 플레이 해봤는데 다들 저그, 프로토스만 하더라. 그래서 주위 사람들이 안 하는 테란을 선택해본 것이다. 그 당시에는 테란이 안 좋아서 다들 몇 번 해보고 안 하더라. 스타1을 할 때도 남들이 프로토스를 잘 안 하길래 골랐던 것이다(웃음).
- 테란이라는 종족의 매력 포인트를 꼽자면
▲ 하나하나 컨트롤 요소가 많아서 재미있다. 사신, 토르, 바이킹 같은 유닛들도 모두 특이해서 컨트롤의 재미가 있는 것 같다. 예전에는 한방 싸움이 중요했는데, 요즘은 좋은 전략이 많이 나와서 그런 것에 매력을 느끼고 있다.
- 오늘은 무난하게 승리했는데, 이번 대회 64강에 임하는 목표가 있다면
▲ 일단 게임을 좀 더 열심히 해야겠다는 생각이 든다. 상금 규모도 크고, 재미있을 것 같아서 나도 이런 대회에서 우승을 하고 싶기도 하다.
- 현재 스타2 래더 성적은 어느 정도 되는지
▲ 다이아몬드 리그 1300점 정도고, 블리자드 공식 랭킹은 4위다.
- 본선에서는 누가 가장 라이벌이 될 것 같나
▲ 글쎄, 어떻게 될지 잘 모르겠다. 서기수, 김원기 같은 친구들이나 이형주, 곽한얼 같은 선수들이 아닐까 싶다. 예전에 곰TV에서 주최했던 대회에서는 곽한얼 선수가 우승하고 내가 준우승을 했었다. 하지만 사실 선수들에 대한 정보가 많지 않아서 잘 모르겠다. 그냥 프로게이머를 했던 분들이 집중력도 좋고 하니까 만나게 되면 껄끄러울 것 같다.
- 프로게이머를 그만 둔 뒤에 어떻게 지냈나
▲ 개인적인 시간이 많아서 너무 좋았다. 다른 일을 하다가 스타2가 나와서 다시 해봤는데 의외로 성적이 좋아서 계속 하게 됐다. 클로즈 베타 3차 때는 대회가 없어서 게임을 접었었는데, GSL이 시작된다는 소식을 듣고 취미를 넘어 우승에 도전해보고 싶다는 생각이 강해졌다.
- 현재 소속은 어떻게 되는지
▲ oGs 클랜에 속해 있고, 따로 팀에 들어갈 생각은 없다. 프로게이머가 될 생각은 전혀 없고, 그냥 즐기고 싶다. 지금 직업이 있기 때문에 프로게이머로 활동을 할만한 시간도 없다.
- 아직도 열렬히 응원하는 팬들이 많은데
▲ 응원해주셔서 너무 고맙고, 재미있는 게임으로 보답하겠다.

- 전승으로 예선을 통과한 소감은
▲ 모두 이기고 본선에 오르게 돼서 기쁘다.
- 일찍이 스타크래프트2 대회에 참가해 좋은 성적을 거두고 있는데
▲ 얼마 전 독일에서 열린 IEM에서는 2등을 차지했고, 그 전에는 팀리퀴드 대회나 베타 테스트 당시 해외 마지막 대회였던 킹 오브 킹에서도 우승을 했었다.

▲ 스타1 당시에도 테란이 잘 안 맞는 것 같아서 종족을 바꿀 생각이었는데, 프로토스로도 해봤지만 저그가 더 체질에 맞는 것 같았다. 그래서 저그를 선택했다.
- 저그라는 종족의 매력이 뭐라고 생각하는지
▲ 저그만의 확장력과 풍부한 자원을 이용한 물량 게임을 좋아하고, 그런 것에 있어서 저그가 가장 알맞은 것 같았다.
- 종족 간 밸런스에 대해서는 어떻게 생각하나
▲ 아무래도 저그는 초반 러시를 수비하기 어려운 종족이라 헤매는 경향이 있었는데, 패치를 통해서 한 걸음씩 더 완벽한 밸런스에 다가서고 있는 것 같다고 생각된다.
- 요즘 국내에서의 생활은 어디서 하고 있나
▲ 아직은 CJ 숙소에 있지만 곧 나올 것이다. 다른 팀에 들어가기 전까지는 친구와 지낼 것 같다.

▲ 한국 팬들이 내 경기를 즐겨주면 좋겠다. GSL에서 한 자리를 차지하게 돼서 영광이고, 굉장히 재미있을 것 같으니까 팬 분들도 기대 많이 해주시면 좋겠다.

- 일찍이 스타크래프트2 대회에 참가해 좋은 성적을 거두고 있는데
▲ 얼마 전 독일에서 열린 IEM에서는 2등을 차지했고, 그 전에는 팀리퀴드 대회나 베타 테스트 당시 해외 마지막 대회였던 킹 오브 킹에서도 우승을 했었다.

- How do you feel about making it to Ro64?
▲ I was nervous since it was a big tournament, and I think I got in pretty easily.
- You play Terran, which is thought to be better in terms of balance compared to the other races.
▲ I think it's good right now, but since I heard that there will be a patch soon, I'll need to go back to the beginning and practice hard. I don't think things until now will matter anymore, and I don't think Terran will get stronger in the future. It's not good for me (laughs).
- Why did you join oGs?
▲ I beat TheWinD hyung in the brain box tournament, and he recommende me to the team. I went as soon as I got invited (laughs). I'm living with him in the team house.
- You're the first from your team to advance.
▲ The rest of the players will definitely make it, so I'll need to start getting nervous. I think I'll meet them in the main tournament.
- Your determination for GSL?

- 64강 본선에 진출한 소감은
▲ 대회라 긴장하고 왔는데, 준비한 것에 비해 부전승도 하고 쉽게 올라간 것 같다.
- 밸런스에서 우위에 서 있다는 평가의 ‘테란’으로 플레이 중인데
▲ 지금이 딱 좋은 것 같은데, 곧 패치가 된다는 소리를 들으니까 처음으로 다시 돌아가서 열심히 해야 할 것 같다. 이제까지 한 것은 의미 없는 것 같고, 앞으로 테란이 더 좋아질 일은 없는 것 같다. 큰일났다(웃음).
- oGs 소속으로 활동하게 된 계기가 있나
▲ 예전에 브레인 박스 대회에서 (박)상익이 형을 이긴 적이 있는데, 그 뒤로 상익이 형이 추천을 해주셨고 게임을 하다 보니까 팀에서 나를 불러주셨다. 그래서 바로 달려갔다(웃음). 숙소에서도 함께 생활하고 있다.
- 팀에서 가장 먼저 본선에 진출했는데
▲ 남은 형들은 무조건 올라오실 거니까 이제 나도 긴장을 해야 할 것 같다. 본선에서 만나게 될 것 같다.
- GSL에 임하는 각오는
▲ 각오를 매번 물어보시는데 진짜 특별히 할 말 없고, 그냥 열심히 하겠다는 생각 밖에 없다. 당연히 우승이라는 목표를 갖고 나오긴 했지만, 일단은 예선을 통과해 마음이 편하다.

- How do you feel about making it to Ro64?
▲ Ro64 was my goal and I'm happy I made it. I'm confident in my ZvT, so I hope I meet a Terran player next game.
- You've never been a professional gamer, but you're one of the top Zerg players.
▲ People say Zerg is worse than other races balance wise, but I think the balance is good in the higher levels. I think Zerg is just difficult for beginners. ZvP is a tough matchup for me.
- Did you have trouble today?
▲ The last game was a little difficult, but the rest were worse than the players I practiced with. I think I had good luck in the brackets. No one was a former progamer.
- You must look forward to the new patch.
▲ I'm excited, but I heard the patch is coming after GSL. I think the 5 second increase in Zealot making time was a very good idea (laughs).
- I heard you're still a student, how will you prepare for GSL?
▲ I'm in Zenith clan, and unlike oGs and Prime, Zenith is an amateur clan. We devise our own strategy, and I think I made it thanks to my clanmates. I think I can get farther if I continue practicing with them.

▲ I'll use my Zenith clan name once the name change comes around. It was because I wasn't in Zenith when I made the account.

- 64강 본선에 오르게 된 소감은
▲ 목표가 64강 이었는데 오르게 돼서 일단 다행이라고 생각한다. 테란전이 자신 있는 편이라서 다음 경기에서도 테란을 만나면 좋겠다.
- 프로로 활동한 경력이 없지만, 저그 상위 랭커로 활약 중이다
▲ 저그가 밸런스 상으로 많이 안 좋다고 하는데, 상위권에서는 어느 정도 밸런스가 맞는 것 같다고 생각한다. 다만 종족 자체가 조금 초보의 벽이 높아서 안 좋다는 이야기가 많은 것 같다. 밸런스를 떠나서 개인적으로는 프로토스전이 어렵다.
- 오늘 경기 중 고비는 없었나
▲ 마지막 경기만 조금 어려웠고, 나머지는 일반 연습 게임 했던 선수들 보다는 다소 쉬웠던 것 같다. 다행히 대진운은 상당히 좋았다. 프로게이머 출신의 선수들은 없었다.
- 조만간 패치가 진행될 예정이라 기대가 클 것 같다
▲ 기대를 많이 갖고 있다. 그런데 GSL이 끝나고 나서 패치를 한다고 들어서 그 점은 아쉽다. 광전사 생산이 5초 늘어난 것은 아주 개념이라고 생각한다(웃음).
- 아직 학생이라고 했는데, 준비는 어떻게 할 생각인지
▲ 내가 제니스 클랜에 소속 돼 있는데 제니스는 oGs, Prime 같은 팀들과는 다르게 아마추어 클랜이다. 그래도 우리 나름대로 전략 같은 것도 많이 연구하고 있는데, 팀원들이 잘 도와줘서 올라온 것 같다. 앞으로도 팀원들과 연습하면 더 높이 올라갈 수 있을 것 같다.
- 아직 아이디는 ‘miso’를 사용 중인데
▲ 아이디 변경 기간에 제니스 클랜 이름을 넣을 예정이다. 초창기 멤버가 아니라서 그렇다.
- GSL에 임하는 각오 한 마디

- How do you feel about making it to Ro64?
▲ I went to oGs house yesterday to practice, and I think it helped. I just played 3 PvP matches, and it was tough.
- Why is PvP tough?
▲ I think PvP is more all-in than skill. I want to play a Zerg in Ro64. Zerg is just a meal to me (laughs).
- What made you switch to SC2?
▲ I didn't care about SC2 when it first came out, but I started after hearing about GSL. I thought about it a lot. I didn't get what I wanted in the contract, and since I can earn just as much if I make Ro32 in GSL, I decided to play SC2.
- Didn't you change not only because of the money, but because you were doing well?
▲ I tried it and I got to 900 on ladder. The max then was 1100, and after seeing my Korean rank, I got confident and decided to switch.
- Why did you join oGs?
▲ I don't think the team is that important, but Bright invited me. Since oGs players are good, I joined with the mindset to learn.
- You must have a strong determination since you gave up progaming for this.
▲ Since I joined oGs, I will get to at least Ro4 to hold up the name of the clan. I want to earn a lot of money for my mother.
- Who do you want to avoid the most?
▲ Of course, Tester. Also my teammates. Outside of my team, I want to avoid Jung Min Soo(ID?).
- You switched unexpectedly. A word to your fans?
▲ The comments on the article about my switch had 50:50 good and bad replies (laughs). I want to thank those who supported me, and I don't regret playing SC1 professionally, since I learned a lot from being with the team. I hope the SC2 fans cheer me on from now on.

- 64강에 진출한 소감은
▲ 하루 전에 oGs 들어가 숙소에서 특훈을 했는데, 잘 된 것 같아 기쁘다. 방금 프로토스전만 세 판 했는데 굉장히 힘들었다.
- 프로토스전이 힘들었던 특별한 이유가 있나
▲ 프프전은 거의 실력 싸움 보다는 올인성이 강한 것 같다. 그래서 난 64강에 올라가면 저그와 만나고 싶다. 저그는 한 끼 식사일 뿐이다(웃음).
- 스타2로의 전향을 결심 하게 된 계기가 있다면
▲ 그냥 스타2가 처음 나왔을 때는 반응이 시큰둥 했는데 GSL 이야기를 접하고 스타2를 시작하게 됐다. 사실 많이 고민을 했다. 연봉 계약 때 적절한 연봉으로 협상이 이뤄지지 않았는데, GSL 32강 안에만 들면 연봉만큼 상금을 받을 수 있어서 스타2로 전향하게 됐다.
- 연봉 문제도 있겠지만, 실력이 따라줘서 전향을 결심한 것 아닌가
▲ 플레이를 해봤는데 래더 900까지 점수가 올랐다. 당시 맥시멈이 1100 이었는데 나의 국내 랭킹이 점점 높아지는 것을 보며 자신감이 생겼고, 전향해도 잘 할 수 있겠다 싶었다.
- oGs에 입단하게 된 이유는 무엇인가
▲ 팀에 들어가는 것은 크게 중요하다고 생각하지 않았는데, (김)성곤이 형과 스타2 하다가 친해졌고 진지하게 ‘올 생각 없냐’고 물으셨다. oGs 팀원들이 모두 잘 해서 배우기도 할 겸 들어가게 됐다.
- 프로게이머를 포기하고 전향을 한 만큼 각오가 남다를 것 같다
▲ 일단 oGs에 들어갔으니까 명문팀의 이름을 더럽히지 않게 최소 4강까지는 갈 것이다. 그리고 솔직히 내 자신을 위해서 열심히 한 것도 있는데, 돈을 많이 벌어서 어머니께 효도하고 싶은 생각이 더 크다.
- 본선에서 피하고 싶은 선수가 있나
▲ 제일 피하고 싶은건 역시 서기수 선수다. 그리고 같은 팀원들은 다 피하고 싶다. 우리 팀이 아닌 선수 중에서는 정민수 선수만 피하면 될 것 같다.
- 갑작스레 전향을 결정했는데, 팬들에게도 한 마디 한다면
▲ 전향 기사 밑에 달린 댓글을 보니까 욕하는 분도 있고 잘했다는 분도 있고 딱 5:5로 나뉘더라(웃음). 격려해주신 분들께 감사드리고, 스타1에서는 많은 활약을 못 했지만 팀 활동을 하며 여러가지 연습은 많이 된 것 같아서 후회 하지 않는다. 이제는 스타2 팬 분들이 많이 응원해주시면 좋겠다.

▲ I'm happy I made it. This is the beginning, and I will prepare well.
- You played Protoss in SC1, but you're Terran in SC2.
▲ My friends all played Zerg and Protoss on SC2. I picked the one that the least amount of people around me were playing. Back then, Terran was bad, so a lot of people switched races. I picked Protoss in SC1 because not that many people were playing it.
- What's the most attractive about terran?
▲ There are a lot to control. Units like reaper, thor, and viking are unique and fun to control. One big battle used to decide the winner, but now there are a lot of good strategies out.
- You won easily today, what's your goal for the tournament?
▲ I think I need to play harder. There is a lot at stake, and it will be fun, so I want to win first place.
- How are you doing in the ladder?
▲ I'm about 1300 points in diamond, and 4th in Blizzard ranking.
- Who do you think will be your rival?
▲ I don't know. Proabably Tester, Cool, (two other players). I don't know because there aren't that much information about the players. I think it will be difficult to play against ex-progamers since they have good concentration.
- What did you do after you quit progaming?
▲ I had a lot of free time. I was doing something else, and when I saw SC2, I tried it out. I was doing better than I expected, so I continued playing. I quit at 3rd closed beta, but when I heard about GSL, I wanted to try and get 1st place.
- What clan are you in currently?
▲ I am in oGs, and I'm not planning on joining a team. I don't want to be a progamer, I just want to enjoy it. I have a job, so I don't have time to be a progamer anyway.

- 8전 전승으로 64 진출에 성공했다
▲ 어쨌든 통과해서 기쁘고, 이제 시작이니까 준비 잘 해보려고 한다.
- 스타1 때는 프로토스였지만, 스타2에서는 테란을 선택했는데
▲ 스타2가 나온 뒤에 주위 친구들과 플레이 해봤는데 다들 저그, 프로토스만 하더라. 그래서 주위 사람들이 안 하는 테란을 선택해본 것이다. 그 당시에는 테란이 안 좋아서 다들 몇 번 해보고 안 하더라. 스타1을 할 때도 남들이 프로토스를 잘 안 하길래 골랐던 것이다(웃음).
- 테란이라는 종족의 매력 포인트를 꼽자면
▲ 하나하나 컨트롤 요소가 많아서 재미있다. 사신, 토르, 바이킹 같은 유닛들도 모두 특이해서 컨트롤의 재미가 있는 것 같다. 예전에는 한방 싸움이 중요했는데, 요즘은 좋은 전략이 많이 나와서 그런 것에 매력을 느끼고 있다.
- 오늘은 무난하게 승리했는데, 이번 대회 64강에 임하는 목표가 있다면
▲ 일단 게임을 좀 더 열심히 해야겠다는 생각이 든다. 상금 규모도 크고, 재미있을 것 같아서 나도 이런 대회에서 우승을 하고 싶기도 하다.
- 현재 스타2 래더 성적은 어느 정도 되는지
▲ 다이아몬드 리그 1300점 정도고, 블리자드 공식 랭킹은 4위다.
- 본선에서는 누가 가장 라이벌이 될 것 같나
▲ 글쎄, 어떻게 될지 잘 모르겠다. 서기수, 김원기 같은 친구들이나 이형주, 곽한얼 같은 선수들이 아닐까 싶다. 예전에 곰TV에서 주최했던 대회에서는 곽한얼 선수가 우승하고 내가 준우승을 했었다. 하지만 사실 선수들에 대한 정보가 많지 않아서 잘 모르겠다. 그냥 프로게이머를 했던 분들이 집중력도 좋고 하니까 만나게 되면 껄끄러울 것 같다.
- 프로게이머를 그만 둔 뒤에 어떻게 지냈나
▲ 개인적인 시간이 많아서 너무 좋았다. 다른 일을 하다가 스타2가 나와서 다시 해봤는데 의외로 성적이 좋아서 계속 하게 됐다. 클로즈 베타 3차 때는 대회가 없어서 게임을 접었었는데, GSL이 시작된다는 소식을 듣고 취미를 넘어 우승에 도전해보고 싶다는 생각이 강해졌다.
- 현재 소속은 어떻게 되는지
▲ oGs 클랜에 속해 있고, 따로 팀에 들어갈 생각은 없다. 프로게이머가 될 생각은 전혀 없고, 그냥 즐기고 싶다. 지금 직업이 있기 때문에 프로게이머로 활동을 할만한 시간도 없다.
- 아직도 열렬히 응원하는 팬들이 많은데
