I found the tournament that caused the postponement of the 17173 World Cup tonight.
Apparently some Korean SC2 communities have formed mini-teams and are having a knockout tournament being shown on GOM.

The 8 communities seem to be;

Prizes:

Zerotol, how do you go about opening a stream in VLC? I knew it had streaming capabilities but I always thought it was a local network kind of deal.

You need the direct stream link probably somethign like mms://
You post that in vlc open networkstream and it works. It's that easy.

I'm so shocked at the high quality/frame rate of this, I almost thought I was viewing a VOD i had downloaded
on a side note - I'd be very surprised if tasteless and artosis did not immediately find work after the release of sc2
the english speaking community of fans of e-sports has grown and is growing incredibly quickly
the demand is so much greater than it was before when they took a chance with hiring tasteless for english commentary

Is anyone intending in setting up a relay on livestream or ustream for this?
This seems like a perfect way to cater to the SC1 fans in Korea by the way as most of them probably belong to at least one of these community sites.

How can people get the stream up? If i click that link i just get to a korean site with a popup window in the middle of the screen probably stating something isn't working.

Waiting until his stream comes up.
Hope these series on GOM is worth watching up at 5 am in the morning

I like the way GOMTV is set up. Commercials at the start and not elsewhere, standalone player. It's laggy right now but I think they'll fix that... I even like the ramen dude. He amuses me.

My GomTV started lagging so I closed it and re-clicked the link in OP and it's goin smooth now.
Is the livestreamer translating into english? Otherwise I don't see the point.

Worked now, had to install the plugin from korean site, didn't work with the english gom-player&plugin for some reason.
Unfortunately the stream is really laggy, unwatchable for me.

Installed an english GOM player tried to do "open url" and copy paste the stream url in the OP got nothing. What am i doing wrong?

Quite opposite for me. Very laggy commercials, and very smooth stream (beter quality then commercials and no laggs at all).

I managed to start the stream once, but now I just get "해당 생중계는 현재 방송중이 아닙니다." when I hit the link provided in OP.

Is this event finished? I just get "해당 생중계는 현재 방송중이 아닙니다." whenever I click on the link and the gom player doesn't launch or anything.

I was starting to wonder the same, installing gom-plugins and players from different places didn't help one bit.

also seeing that the last match started at 20:50 KST and it's 22:45 KST by the time of my post, you can safely assume that it's over.

Stupid question, but it says, at least for now, that the Me2Day vs FOMOS is unavailable through the megaupload link, but all the others work. I'm not too sure, but does that mean it got taken down or something, not too sure what it means.

well check was playing so 17173 wanted to do all both semis in one day rather then half their show rescheduled

Bracket is 8 Korean community websites. They play a 1v1 and a 2v2 with a 1v1 tiebreaker if necessary. Ro8 and Ro4 are done.

seems to be working for me
went to the link in OP, installed the korean gom player, and went through their channels until i found the right show. it's streaming ok right now.

I'm not sure what's going on in general. The games just started you say? The stream started on time for me and is working great, but they are just talking - I don't see any games started yet. I see 3 Korean commentators. I would've liked to see your brother too, Sean.

Just make sure that in whatever you guys are watching, there isn't a progress bar. I can't skip ahead, so I know what I'm watching is a stream, not a vod.
