During the Yellow / chojja / early julyzerg era this kind of muta / defiler management was just unheard of. Muta control has totally revolutionized zerg.

Wow perfect macro all game. At one point JD starts to build up some mins/gas and you think 'wtf?!' But then, he makes like 8 ultras, perfectly timed along with his upgrades, and you kick yourself in the head for doubting JD's macro even for a second

Mind perhaps made a mistake by sieging his tanks to kill the lurkers. Jaedong would quickly move his force in as he knew the tanks couldn't get away in siege mode. Mind obviously felt obligated to fight when this happened as he couldn't stand to lose these tanks so easily. However, without a decent number of tanks or vessels, his marines and medics stood no chance vs Jaedong's well-positioned lurkers. So the legend killer emphasized on this tendency of his opponent and did lots of damage before his even got defilers. When you have more than half a dozen tanks sieged, the zerg player would take some serious damage in his attack. However, Mind never had more than 3 tanks, letting Jaedong move in without much concern. Of course, every time Jaedong charged in with his units, Mind lost all his tanks and a good number marines. In my opinion Mind should have simply hit the lurkers with unsieged tanks, which still out-range them. If he could have kept the tanks alive, he would have been able to push out.

(Z)Jaedong is just crazy, delaying (T)Mind's 3rd's mining time like that damn. That 3rd basically didnt even have the time to function with (Z)Jaedong's constant pressure. I think (T)Mind could also use more dropship plays too, even though I know (Z)Jaedong could deflect it easily plus all the defense he has at each expo. He did like...1 drop through out the entire game, letting (Z)Jaedong mine gas as much as he wants.
Snowflakes in January, Heart warm like February, I wouldn't ordinarily..

mind's multitasking in this game was really suspect, i saw like 3 different times where jaedong wandered a defiler into a group of marines and plagued them, then the marines auto-attacked the defiler and chased it into some waiting lurkers only to get massacred. sick play of course by jd throughout, but probably not mind's best showing either (although the dmatrix of the marine into a group of lurkers was awesome/hilarious).

This was a great game. It makes me want to quit SC, though...JD is toooooo fucking good. lol.

Everything from his timing, macro, even micro was amazing. He plays with a fairly low ling count when using lurkers, though, which really surprised me. I can't believe he could pull off all that with so few lings to shield the lurks...

God the one thing that totally killed me was his overlords...did you guys notice he NEVER built more than two at a time? That means he knows both the rate he's losing units, the rate he's buildings units, the rate his money is coming in, and exactly how many units he'll need by the time the next overlord is done. OMG IT BLEW MY MIND.

His unit mix / larvae management is an absolute art in of itself.

Yeah I completely agree with everything here. I came out of the replay feeling like I had 0 understanding for zvt at all. I just couldn't follow anything that was going on, and I was watching at 2x. Crazy game for sure.
