I don't know if you really believe taking two times the upgrade time to build devourers against air-to-air mass corsairs was a good idea, but ultralisks have extremely strong carapace armor. The zerg had around 24 or more hydralisks. Plenty of hydralisks to take out four carriers. Throw in a few defilers and the game should've been over quickly. Ultralisks would have clearly been the wiser choice than devourers against the cannons and high templars. I don't think 24+ hydra would've been enough. His opponent used his carriers wisely, keeping them above the cliff. 4 carriers, a lot of corsairs (pretty much unlimited d-web), and he usually accompanied those with a shuttle of templars. It would've taken more than that, even with a defiler. It's just very hard to do that, considering the micro needed (would've given me a headache for sure). When you get into position, he can just escape as well. Playing against p's air, their mobility is too great to use ground units. I think devourers were the best choice. | ||

Devourers/queens slow the corsairs fire, scourges don't die so fast anymore, scourges can kill the carriers without being snapped before they even reach the carrier ;o | ||
