Ruins yields my highest win rate but I find Dusk the more standard of the bunch. I like Dusk despite my low win rate on it. As a Zerg though.. Orbital is my least favorite of them all. I find it really hard to defend a fourth base vT on that map.

Honestly, These maps went into the right direction. But I feel that it's becoming a trend, where they are going to the bathroom, and deciding whatever comes out is a map.

I really hate saying things like this, but c'mon. Back rocks(to your main) on a 4 player map with LARGE spaces at every other base. I stand by my statements and vulgarity to them.

i'm surprised so many people like dusk towers. it's very linear and very turtly, with 1 ground path to the enemy, and 1 location where you can effortlessly defend 4 bases.

for my "favorite" map i can't decide between ulrena, central protocol, and prion terraces. none of the maps in the pool are particularly well made (they are blizz maps after all), but these 3 each all push the boundaries of mapmaking in a big way, which mapmakers have been wanting from blizz for a long time. so i have to give them points for creativity and originality, even if the execution falls flat.

ideally lerilak crests would also make the list for experimentation with a 2 entrance nat, but it's just so terribly executed, with significant rotational imbalance, and minimal effort put into decoration and appearance.

Maybe it's just that original Steppes of War exhausted all my desire for "one of those kind of games." That or scrap station.

Dusk Towers is my favorite map in terms of aesthetics, but Ruins has given me some of my best games (win or lose) in LotV so far.

Got to say though, the map pool is pretty farcical at this point. This is what happens when Blizz designs all the maps in the pool.

Dusk Towers -> Orbital Shipyard -> Prion Terraces -> Ruins of Seras -> Ulrena -> Lerilak Crest -> Central Protocol
Tossup between Prion and Ruins but It feels like Prion is less abused by mobility. The last two I voted out of the map pool.

Central Protocol is visually appealing, but awful in design.
