... bad. This could start a dangerous trend.

imagine pros chosing 'SL's based on the players attending...
Hey, saviors playing in MSL soooo im going to play OSL

imagine fans watching the games on tv, unable to watch their favourite gamer outside of PL because they cant get MBC Game or Ongamenet in their area

imagine what teams that are sponsered by tv companies will do...
MBC Hero -> only OSL, OGN Sparkyz -> only MSL

They could just practice for OSL and play in MSL as well. Or visa versa. Sure, you won't be absolutely perfect on the maps so a timing based build might not work. But they're pros, if they practice hard for OSL it's hardly going to make them worse in MSL.

Bad, it would really suck to have two seperate 'leagues' with every player either in OSL or MSL, without any mix. Imagine nada being on one side continuously, and ipx on the other!

Voted for bad. If other teams start doing this it could be chaos. Also, if a player chose one league and didn't make it past the qualification rounds he'd be out of both leagues. For example, Oov chose OSL, but if someone beats him in the qualification rounds he'll be screwed over. Lastly, I think that players will have even a higher pressure to do better.

IMO KeSpa should get involved in this "incident". They should also define rules for this kind of situations. I mean coach shouldn`t be able to order a player you have to choose between leagues. It is totally disrespectful toward MSL starleague in this case. Other teams have tight schedule too. Most likely other teams will not fallow this example.

I think it's stupid. They're overestimating the "practice" issue. Let those who cant qualify for the big leagues take care of the 2v2 that particular season, instead of using players who are involved in both individual leagues spend time to practice 2v2. The maps are the same in proleague for 1v1 as in the individual leagues, so this isnt really a problem.

A desperate way to clung on to the sponsors imo. Basically they're saying to everyone sponsors included "We only did bad in PL because we had players in two individual leagues, not because our players performed bad/arent as good as previously assumed"

Also it sucks not being able to get starstudded leagues in both MSL and OSL.

Hmm... I think it would be a good trend as it gives progamers more free time to relax and have a life. However, I don't think it's a good decision if ONLY SKT1 do such a thing. It just isn't fair.

They chose for this life themselves, so they have to work for it. Just like lawyers have to work up to 12 hours a day, it's their job, their life, and their payment and they chose for it themselves.

Bad.

They're trying to blame distraction when the issue is obviously something else, like coaching, or the house atmosphere. The better run teams have, in truth, been better run for a loooooong time now.

Seems like SKT1 management is getting frustrated and is on a witch hunt to place blame. Not a good sign.

agreed

the coaches shouldnt be the ones to determine who/where they play
proleague is proleague, but the individual leagues are for individuals, not for other people to make the choice for you

lmao this sucks.

They're just trying to find something to blame after failing horribly in proleauge.

I'd want to see any individual sport-star going "I'm only going to participate in this one leauge" pfft..

but still, you cant compare something like a football player to a starcraft player

its like apples and oranges, football players dont have to practice timing and strategies for each match/matchup for every league.

i see what your saying about them using it as an excuse, and that could be it, but you still cant blame them for trying something new

If they are doing something drastic like this, I would give them the benefit of the doubt that there are serious issues that actually occurred. Maybe to the fans this really sucks, and I do not know the labor arrangements in proteams to comment on the player side of things, but given teh busy schedule of these progamers it is at least not a onesided horrible thing.

I don't think he's comparing it to football players (they typically only have one league that they concentrate on anyway). He clearly indicated individual sports, so something like Tennis or Golf. And umm.... I'm pretty sure there are players out there that only concentrate on say.... playing on clay.

They are definitely over-worked. This is good for them.

You are right, it's THEIR life, and right now, they chose to participate in one league. If they don't like their team decision, they can switch teams.

The dangerous trend of scapegoating or what?

Individual leagues will count for more no matter what the teams say. Fans want to see the best of the stars play, not think of them as teams.

With that said, the ones who play more individual tournaments and do well in them will be more popular (unless they're fugly and play completely lame).

Conclusion, it's just an excuse and it means squat.
I wouldn´t call him stupid, but let´s just say he´s unlucky when thinking...
