Europe is getting closer. NA is getting further apart.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact it is being played with Koreans in Korea and Europeans in Europe. I feel like live the Koreans will do better

Some players definitely got better. Vortix, Snute and Welmu are the most notable examples but not the only ones.
In general, European ladder grew stronger so many players do or can improve faster.

However, Koreans also improve and they've got better ladder and better practice conditions so it should be expected that for them the process is faster. On the other hand, it's easier to reach code A level of play for which foreigners are aspiring, than improve while playing at solid code S level. That's why some catching up is still possible and the aforementioned players definitely made a big step in that direction.

I wouldn't dismiss their progress by comparing them with top15 Koreans. It's not fair because no foreigner in history (with possible exception of Stephano and the early Idra/Jinro/Huk period) ever surpassed code A / weak code S level. And only a few foreigners ever had code A skills.

Prob a bit of both actually. Europeans have never prob had this many top koreans to prac and with and analyze locally. Def a contributing factor.

At the same time these koreans who left korea and playing in europe prob dont get the same level of support/top level practice they would in korea so they have prob declined a little bit. Also most of the koreans that euros are beating are players who are on the downhill of their career.

It's an interesting question definitely.

I think it's Koreans that live in EU getting a bit worse and the best Europeans that get matched against said Koreans on the ladder getting a bit better.

But in major international tournaments (real) Koreans will always dominate.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Don't like any of these answers. Koreans are already dominating like normal, it is just a select few in EU not pulling their weight.

I really think this poll is bad. There should at least be a "other factors" option. My personal feeling is that SC2 just doesn't have everything it had going for it before, and outside of maybe kespa/proleague gsl players, you won't find what we would generally define as "korean". Which adds to my second point, which is that I feel as though there's an inflation factor of korean talent, as in there are a lot of semi top tier or used to be top tier koreans still playing who are far past their prime or are no longer on the training regiment they likely used to be. I can't be sure about the 2nd part but regardless I think all of it summed up really devalues the "worth" we put on korean talent in general.

Well there you have it. Once again, all 3 regions will have a KR champ. Not 1 European in the semis for WCS EU and all ro8 games for Koreans were won by a 3-1 or better.

Just seems like once we get to the offline portion we really see the gap again. I mean I guess there were some good results where Europeans were beating Koreans in Europe but I feel like there have always been occasional upsets throughout SC2. Koreans still winning the majority like usual

Still there is no decent T player in EU and AM, so imo not much has changed. The few koreans outside of KR which are producing results (ie: Polt), are working their ass off to stay up to date. The rest of the upsets are carried by the race imbalances.

Unless a foreigner rises with the motivation to endure 10h+ sc2 training per day, i dont think we will have a foreigner in the world top50.
