But I hope the next OSL is more interesting. There was just too much fail in this series. Game 2 Jaedong using his hydras to attack a building and letting 50 vultures in his base. Game 3 Fantasy's complete disregard for the hydra den he scouted with his vulture. Game 4 Fantasy's *1 base* 2 port wraith against muta...ugh utter fail. Game 5 dropship to valkyrie build order. Please save me from the stupidity. | ||

I think the perfect problem with this thread is what this guy says here: "One might immediately ask “if the vulture harass is the key to this build, why not transition to M&M instead of mech?” The answer is that the mech transition is smoother. The valkyrie + goliath combination is key to holding off a quick mutalisk harass as the units are incredibly strong. To transition to valk+goliath, Fantasy only needed to add an armory and a factory. However, should Fantasy have decided to go M&M, he would have been adding on an e-bay, more barracks, then he would have needed the time to make lots of M&M, get an academy, make turrets (turrets will be more necessary with marine range+stim delayed) etc etc etc. Clearly, mech is the strongest transition from this opening." But if you noticed, Fantasy *did* transition to M&M, including in Game 1. People's adaptation to his valkyrie build was to go *extremely* fast mutalisks, so that he couldn't build up his goliaths support for the valkyries. In fact, that's exactly what Luxury did (IIRC) in his series against Fantasy, but Luxury screwed up his micro and suicided his mutalisks. That's why building a dropship against Jaedong in game 5 was so dangerous. Fantasy didn't have the *time* to build goliaths to counter the mutalisks and scourges (and eventually those oncoming zerglings). He needed that dropship money to defend against the super-fast anti-air. Why do you think he built turrets and marines in game 1??? I know it's the custom on TL to praise Fantasy and call this the "greatest TvZ series ever", but a build order is a build order. It has its weaknesses and strengths. The weakness in this build order is that it *depends* on Fantasy being successful with a vulture harass against 2 hatch mutas. Basically Fantasy's mindset was to harrass Jaedong to victory. He apparently had no confidence in his mechanics, or more likely his coaches didn't. Now listen harem, when you posted that link I read that entire fracking post, watched every game he posted, and carefully analyzed every freaking word he wrote. I would highly appreciate it if you did the same for me before you reply. As to whoever was insulting me about my friend, seriously get a life. I don't always need his help to make such a simple analysis, and what he does or doesn't do is none of your business. | ||
