The live stream is over. Download the full commentary audio on the tracker!

During the season 2 finals of Shinhan Proleague, staff members Chill and Hotbid came up with a plan to provide some live English casting for people watching the event live. We took the feedback you provided and are happy to announce that we will be providing full live commentary for the Proleague Grand Finals.

Our team will include Chill, Manifesto7, Kennigit and GTR-2-GO with special guests Day[9] and possibly inControl and ret!. Live streaming will be provided by R1CH and we will be able to stream up to 1000 people at once! As with Season 2 finals, an mp3 will be available for those of you who cant watch live, allowing you to sync up with your media of choice.

We should be going live just before the first match starts and details will be provided in this post and in the live report thread. In order to listen, you will have to sync up our audio stream with either GOM Player or Daum Player.

What you can expect

    - Manifesto7 and Chill will be your lead commentators, providing insight into the builds an play of each match
    - Our guests Day[9] and Incontrol/Ret will be providing strategic insight into the player's psychology based on their high level gaming experience.
    - After each match we will be having post game analysis from the entire team and providing as much insight as we can

As this is our first “official” cast, bear with us as we adjust and get rolling. I’m excited to get this going and I think you will appreciate what we have to bring.

Last time i think we had about 130 people listen max. R1CH had to start a second relay. This time we are good to go for much larger numbers.

Great initiative!^

What will happen with the original sound from the stream? the Korean commentators, in game music/sounds etc. Will you remove that or keep it in the background?

Basically how it works is we will be in vent/skype and R1CH will be rebroadcasting out from that so you will just hear our voices.

They didn't bail last time. You can still DL the mp3 of the stream or watch the commentaries on youtube.

The hell are you talking about? We casted for over three hours last time, as we said we would. From half an hour before the opening straight through to the end.

Are there vent servers that can support 1000 users..? Or am I totally misunderstanding how this is going to work?

You are misunderstanding. The casters will be in a vent server, and our output will be relayed by a server to a listening audience. You will be listening to one of those winamp/vlc files like online radio and you sync that with your video stream.

and you have a blue star-thingy.

Anyway, this will make the proleague finals very very enjoyable. Totally looking forward to this. What I would like opposed to the previous cast is probably some introductory talk, pre-game analysis, some greetings to the listeners, w/e. It appeared like the casters were only focussed on the games and on calling those last time. Sure, that is the main thing, but "there is not much to talk about right now as the games are not starting yet" could be improved. And I am sure you guys have some anecdotes to share or buzz to spread .

Your name suggests nothing good for your mission. But still ... the easiest would maybe be checking the time on TL.net, which is Korean Standard Time (top right) and comparing it with your current time, so you can figure out the difference. The event starts out at 14.00 h KST, which is Saturday 6.00 in the morning for me, I suppose you are also in this timezone?

Yeah, for our last cast we were just kind of winging it to provide some english voices during the long event. This time we are much more prepared and if you've heard our two guests talk you know they have a lot to say and will bring a great addition to the cast.

Because we have much more prepared i think you're going to see a live cast of much higher quality - im excited :D.

If you are, I am also. Good to hear that you are well-prepared . If nothing else works, you can have Manifesto tell the story how he won the first sc2 2on2 tourney ever.

The stream isn't up yet, for obvious reasons. When we get closer to the Finals we will post the address for the stream in the news post and probably in the forum.

If you are ahead, thats actually better. All you do with Gom or Daum player is take the tracker back and scroll backwards (or forwards) until you are synced with us. You can also pause it - we will be doing count downs for each game.

Polis, there will be an mp3 version for download.

Well, they said it would be a live stream, so it will probably have a stream up soon, I'm guessing there will be like 10 minutes before the thing starts and the stream will be up.

I really hope that this stays in sync with my stream. My stream is usually like 1-1.5 minutes behind the live reports. I'm getting worried :-(

See the Resources for a better starcraft life thread. And hurry (should be under featured threads, stickied) the players have to be downloaded.

Hye guys, the third guy's mike sounds a little crispy and is a bit bad. If he could fix his sound a little bit.

Manifesto - you sound is good, but sometimes it does crisps or whatever you call it.

How about those Korean Cheerleaders.

I am Korean myself who prefers American girls, but those cheerleaders were cute. I have to admit.. I am a slave to women's beauty =)

I want FIREBAT HERO DANCE AT THE END.

Stork - own Anytime. I just don't like the way Anytime looks =).

Jaedong - he is so good right now - that is why i want him to lose.
But Frozean is not a top tier player and jaedong is probably #1 now.

what stream are they using?

I think they're using a low quality stream for consistency, just pause your video or audio depending on which is too fast.

How is this working for everybody else? It works alright for me in between games, but once they start it completely bogs down making it impossible to see wth is going on.

For DAUM Pot Player, after starting the program, just click the ProLeague / OSL banner on the right (if you don't see it, check the box in the window title to enable the channel window) then click the blue Play button for the event at 14:00.

I'm using winamp for the TL commentary, working great besides the 30 sec lag. Videostream worked great for a couple of minutes this match, wonder what they're doing over there.

Cast is nice so far, but I just thought I'd warn people that it's not in sync with the downloads from the small vod thread. I'm not sure which broadcast is which but I think daum plays the OGN broadcast and since the small vods aren't synced with the broadcast, the small vods must be MBC.
