This Thursday we will be treated to what promises to be the most uncompetitive match of the quarter finals. However, this is StarCraft, and anything can happen. I’m sure 910 isn’t going to let popular opinion determine his place in this MSL.

jkillashark’s MSL Results and Standings Thread

June 28th – 18:30 Korean
Match A - 910 (T-MBC) vs Stork (P-Samsung)
Game 1 - Python
Game 2 - Desperado
Game 3 - Monty Hall
Game 4 - Loki
Game 5 - Python

910[Ete] (T) vs. Stork (P)

So on one side of the room we will have Stork, who smashed Reach in the MBC prelim finals, went undefeated in his group beating Sea and Much in the process, lost a tough series to Savior and ended up clawing his way back into the tournament with an incredible 3-0 performance in the wildcards adding Light, Nal_rA, and Xellos to his hit list, all the while serving as a Pro League ringer for Samsung with an 11-4 record (4-1 PvT), and continuing to progress to the quarter finals of the OSL to boot!

On the other side we have 910, who made it through 2-1 from what was undeniably the easiest first round group and has played a grand total of 4 games in this tournament against only 2 opponents. It gets worse, they were both Terrans. Want more bad news? The two Terrans were go.go the bug user and an out of shape Xellos. How do his Pro League stats look you ask? He’s played 3 2v2s... I’m not minimizing this guy, that really is all there is to say.

It seems that the TeamLiquid community’s voting in this Liquibet displays my sentiments exactly:

In terms of maps it doesn’t seem like there is much to say. Monty Hall is only being played once so it seems things turned out as well for 910 as they could. A best of five is generally the longest series we get to see in Pro SC, other than some finals, and as we all know the more games that are played, the more likely it is that the best player will win. I don’t know anything of 910’s TvP, since it seems there isn’t really that much to know, so trying to guess his approach to a given map is impossible for me. In the case of Stork, he has incredible PvT and is achieving the best results of his career. He’s dynamic and plays a wonderful, unpredictable style utilizing the best of well timed strategic plays and frightening macro-oriented approaches. I’m sure we can expect a great showing from Stork, but in all likelihood his opponent, who has had the easiest ride of all the quarter final players, isn’t up to the task of testing him and providing us with an entertaining series. Let’s hope I’m wrong about that.

The results that players are capable of achieving in the individual tournaments are typically foreshadowed by their PL performance. Check out Carnac’s meticulously updated PL Results and Standings Thread to keep up with all the comings and goings of the ProLeague so you can better understand each team and player.

The games start at 18:30, Korean time. Catch the live update thread when it appears.

Its tough to predict when one player is so unknown. However, we have seen so many times that unknown players come out of nowhere and dominate a season, either becoming household names, or fading away into the distance after that.

Let's hope that 910 makes it competitive and the series is one to remember, rather than just wasted HD space.

I hope 910 can put up a fight.
Stork has been playing hot but maybe 910 can surprise us.
910 hasn't been appearing much in proleague so the chances he is well prepared for this match is pretty high. As mana said in his introduction, Stork has been playing multiple games while 910 has been appearing very few times.
Stork's play has definately been analyzed by 910 but Stork is unable to do the same because the lack of recent games. So Stork is facing a relatively unknown player with a relatively unknown playstyle. This could be a possible upset but it most likely will go to Stork 3-2.

Game 1 - Python 910 < Stork Id expect reaver play
Game 2 - Desperado 910 > Stork Terran can get alot of tanks, and stork uses alot of goons
Game 3 - Monty Hall 910 < Stork This is a big stork map, unless the game goes long id give it as an easy win
Game 4 - Loki 910 > Stork Id guess either a contain or a failed cheese will be the end of stork on this
Game 5 - Python 910 < Stork and im going to say carriers and a full arsenal of 'tricks' from both
Fuck KeSPA.

910 has a good winning % O_oi even if against mostly T.

One televised loss his whole career IIRC, and 8 or 9 wins? meh, my memory fails.

But it isn't that bad, even if sample size is small.

I hope he makes good games, even though I think Stork will take it 3-1.

Hopefully this will be a fun match, but I'm one of the many who expect Stork to dominate 910

Honestly I expect this to be a blowout with Stork 3-0ing 910 easy. In fact, the commercials will probably last longer than all the games combined. Stork is just that good.

I love the massive pro-stork bias. I'm a proponent of such support for the birdtoss myself. 3:0 or 3:1. Stork is a PvT machine for a reason.

Um, well I'll be honest, although the odds are against him (as are most people, including me for the liquibet :D), who knows....this could be another upset...-_-

Um no not really like that at all actually. FBH is another proven hot player right now. Doing excellent overall specially in TvT. Savior was expected to win but comparing FBH to 910 is rediculous. Everyone expected FBH to be able to at least compete against savior bt being savior, he was still the favorite. People seem to forget because of his ceremony that in the games he won he played nearly flawless defense based macro. I'm not really a big fan of him or his style of play, but it can't be denied that FBH has the skills to be the best new terran.
Being healthy, it has been said, really consists of having the same disease as everybody else.

I'm new to the site and where can I find the Live update thread when it appears? Also, I'm not current on Korean time. About how far ahead of us are they? Thanks.

As for my guess on who will win? Stork for sure. After watching some VODs of him and listening to the commentaries given by Klazart and others. I don't think 910 will have a chance.
So wait? I'm bad? =(
