From thirty two, to sixteen. From sixteen to eight (with a little Wild Card thing in between). And now the knock-out stage. There's no more winners or loser's round. There's no more "I'll do better next week". And there definately won't be another Wild Card.

Match D - July (Z) vs GoRush (Z)
Game 1 - Loki
Game 2 - Python
Game 3 - Desperado
Game 4 - Monty Hall
Game 5 - Loki

July (Z) vs. GoRush (Z)

Game 1 - Loki

Time and time again we've seen great players battle it out too soon this season. There's really no explanation needed to explain why this is another one of those battles arrived too soon.

If my memory serves me right, this is the first Bo5 these two have had against each other since the KT-KTF Premiere League finals... an epic battle in which July emerged as the champ.

The first map is Loki. Not a single ZvZ has been played on this map yet, so many things can be speculated. The most interesting aspect that comes to mind is the gas-expansion in the back. I believe we can expect a fast-expansion build from one of the players... but then again, it's ZvZ... who knows?

Game 2 - Python

Here's a very basic map in a ZvZ. Which means anything is possible. It's almost pointless to try to even speculate what might happen because chances of that actually happening is slim to none. Therefor, I shall add nothing more.

Game 3 - Deperado

Here's a more interesting match. A ZvZ on a map with a double gas main. I can for once guarantee no one will try a fast expansion build. (nor can I find a possible reason to try and want to. One thing I find interesting is the possibility of a sunken rush. Because of the positioning of the minerals and gases on this map, it leaves a lot of open spots for a sunken rush should one player attempt it. I know, a very long shot... who tries sunken rushes these days? But hey, anything's possible.

However, in the most likely possibility that nothing of the sort happens, we can probably expect soem large number of mutas.

Game 4 - Monty Hall

I really don't know what to say about this map. It's very unlikely that someone will risk an early rush build since much of it depends on luck, and drones to open the road. So we are left with a fast expansion build and a fast tech build. Whatever happens, I predict.... uh... I dunno.. I'm lost.

Game 5 - Loki

The only thing that might change is that both players will probably opt for safer builds.. if the match lasts this long. Who shall become victor? We shall see.

All in all this match is probably the most difficult match to predict. We have a crazy-driven July and a seemingly back-in-shape GoRush. However neither player has really been tested in ZvZ lately, and both players have been great at it at one point or another. That and the fact that ZvZ is such a coin toss, really makes this a head scratcher. In the end I shall give the edge to July for his consistancy over GoRush. But really, anything is possible.

*Note: The date is NOT an error. As posted in the GomTV2 Results thread, the dates for MSL has changed to Thursday and Sunday. The times are the same.

I think GoRush will take this one. Dunno why, i know July has better micro and his zvz should be better yet i believe in GoRush.

GoRush's ZvZ is just as good as July's imo.
Coin flip... and I'm gussing it'll go to a 3-2 either way.

Sigh... Why do these two have to eliminate each other?
I hope the winner takes the MSL personally.

The Starcraft folklore, which is probably true, says that July is more technically skilled but Gorush is smarter. Both these qualities are important in zvz. All I know is that I hope for July to take it. Gorush is the kind of player who can throw away games and lose horribly in later rounds while July will show no mercy to the terrans and tosses that wait for him.

ahh 2 skt1 zergs. I wonder if they have practiced with each other already.
I think July will win but I will be happy either way.
It sucks though cause next round they are going to be playing a zerg killer in Bisu or Hwasin.

I'm really hoping VioleTAK's 3-2 game prediction to be right. We don't get enough ZvZ

I want to see July vs Bisu in the semi-finals, I really do...
