Rain is really good, it's highly likely that Bomber could play a great series to the best of his ability and still lose. That doesn't mean it's a disappointment or that he "choked", it just means he got beaten by a better player on the day. I'm of the opinion that if Bomber plays a series to the best of his abilities then Rain would have been better off facing any other player in the world. Bomber's best is the best player I've ever seen in sc2, and other than Mvp who just somehow finds a way to win when he shouldn't, I would say peak form Bomber is untouchable.
Of course, that doesn't happen particularly often.

Since the last preview was wong about the Maru vs INnoVation prediction..
Imma predict 4-1 Rain

Hmmmm... It's like in one of the Pratchett's books - they were looking for a shot with exactly milion to one chance of hitting a dragon (nobody says it's 999,994 to one but it just might work and we all know that chances of 1,000,000 to one happen in nine times of ten)... Now we just have to look for the highest possible fall for Bomber... Maybe Code B straight after demolishing both Rain and Maru 4:0? And winning season finals or is that too much???

even as a Zerg I am so hyped. Bomber gogogo. You get my blessing.

Peak form Bomber has never really happened though, not long enough for him to win a major tournament (at least since waaaayyy back in WoL. He might look really unbeatable one series, then the next series he'll get crushed. The law basically stems from his inconsistency. We all know he *can* win anything (I wouldn't say he's anywhere near untouchable), he just never actually does. He loses in some random way once we all build our hopes up, like today.
I'm really hoping he wins though.

Next thing you know they'll be telling us the Artosis curse is fake and he only got a few predictions wrong...
|
I picked Bomber in my liquibets Bomber 4 - 2. Although a 4 - 0 would be amazing and only hype the Grand Finals to a whole new level OSL has never seen!
|
Artosis on a popular starcraft show cant remember which one, said:
"There is no way on earth bomber can win the OSL" that was way before he played Innovation, he was looking at the liquipedia groups trying to find the possible candidate to win the OSL.
This is where the beginning of this curse started, so not only Bomber is gonna beat Rain but he is also gonna beat Maru.
|
Either way I think the winner wins the OSL. Maru played well, but half of that series seemed to be innovation going on crazy tilt after failing to hold the first all-in or two. Meanwhile both Rain and Bomber play safer than Innovation. Rain probably has better defense than Innovation, and Bomber is harder to cheese because he throws out crazy builds of his own. In addition, neither seem to be the type of player to go townhall first on a map that players love to cheese on.
Predicting the scoreline of this series seems futile, as I think it could possibly be a 4-0 either way if one player comes in really hot. Considering the quarterfinals however, I think there is about a 60-70% chance that Bomber wins.

Bomber so stronk! But I hope Rain will take it. I don´t want a mirror finals...
