Auction OSL - Finals Results
October 27th, 2012 12:59 GMT

well, it doesn't come surprising, for me the mainquestion was "how high will rain win?". DRG shouldn't take this loss to much to heart, Rain is just an amazingly good player, and for DRG in his current state, to make it to the finals is already a big achievement. he is capable of beating Rain when he is on top of his game, and the same goes for Rain. all in all a predictable result, that cements Rains status as THE best protoss and possibly player of the world atm.
that was fast. shame i didn`t wake up in time. Shame DRG couldn`t make it. The only thing i saw was him crying a lot. That made me sad.
Oh damn. I stopped watching after DRG took game 1... didn't see this coming...
Kespa players getting good man
Jung Yoon Jong! Jung Yoon Jong! Jung Yoon Jong!
lmao I waited all week for this and then got distracted and forgot to watch it.
anyone know where the games get archived/uploaded?
Was hoping for a good and epic game like game 1. The games after became underwhelming thou grats to Kespa for having a player that won't fall behind the ESF!!!
VODs? ... i missed it cos stream died at one point
I only managed to see the first game. Are VODs available for non-paying customers?
That is just a kick in the pair for me as a DRG fan.
You got it right that game one might possibly be the best piece of anti-zerg propaganda yet. The strength of Infestor-GGLord is simply too much.
Damn! I missed it
Will there be a way to watch those games for free?
Congratulations to Rain !

Yea, Rain for the Bonjwahood. First step made.
Congratz Rain, I only watched game 5 and the 4 Dts simultaneously at 4 bases of DRG certainly threw DRG off. The muta-ling army could not defend the push.
Can't say I didn't see it coming but it would have been good to see DRG come out of his so called "slump" of recent times with a major victory.
Congratulation Rain, displaying on how to beat a powerful zerg like DRG: not allowing him to tech to broodlord / infestor and finish it midgame.

Aww, I was looking forward to DRG taking these series :/ But owel, gg wp Rain.

Serioulsy, DRG not playing like DRG in the finals and then losing. WHY
Who would have thought Sun would ever win an "OSL"? hahaha
Anyway, SKT FIGHTING!~~

Couldn't stay up for the finals, but from the game's description, Rain (especially game 3) played some really strong mindgames on DRG. From my personnal experience, I just hate when I'm not entirely sure of what the protoss is doing because he snipes my overlords quickly and he's being very sneaky with his tech, I can't imagine how it feels in an OSL finals...
I know it isn't the place to talk about balance, but I think this is yet another series that shows Zergs are maybe a tiny bit too weak against the protoss firepower in early and mid game and likewise zergs that gather a sufficient Tier 3 army are just so hard to stop. Bah regardless of that I'm anxious to see the VODs, I'm pretty certain they both displayed exceptionnal skill!
GG Rain.

Good to see DRG make the final after a bit of a tough run for him, but a well prepared Rain after his GSL loss is just scary at the moment. Hope both keep up these good results and make PvZ more entertaining and varied with 5 games which weren't all Immortal pushes or GGlord/Infestor! (only some)

man, it figures my internet would crap out just before the third game. oh well...i figured rain would take it 4-1.

within a few hours of the thing finishing, i'm spoiled by TL front page. seriously, why is it necessary to post an article like this so soon after the match, and with the actual final score in the first sentence? oh well

I think after game 3, DRG was straight up confused about which build he should do. It's like he lost confidence in his builds and had no clue how to counter Rain. The last game was pretty sad, with DRG just throwing his mutas away at the end. Although it was somewhat disappointing to not see a longer series, game 1 was absolutely freaking SICK.
Game 1 was simply one of the best games I've ever seen in Starcraft 2; reminded me of the MKP v Parting GSTL finals for some reason. It was so back and forth, the ebb and flow of the game was amazing.
Not too suprised, but I feel that DRG will kill it in his next big tournament. He's struggled with protoss timings for a while (See IPLHIN vs HerO), so he knows what he has to work on to go back to unstoppable badass mode. I also want to confess that, as someone who didn't know about the Brood War (it came out when I was 5 after all), I thought all the hype and prophecies of the apocalypse about kespa players was nostalgic fanboy talk, but Rain is rapidly opening my mind up to this

Unlike other sports-news a lot of people watch starcraft non-live. That's the reason why i avoided TL for months untill i realized the "non-spoiler" feature. ( I was actually checking my profile-options like 3 times before realizing how to do it)
It could be nice if you made the anti-spoiler more visable.

Also, would love to see Rain's dominance continue, great performance by him throughout October.

Rain is already close to bonjwa status, taking WCS Asia and OSL as well as making semi finals in GSL. MVP and Nestea are already bonjwas from 2011, and I'd say Rain is there or on the cuffs on bonjwahood for 2012. Maybe one more tournament.

I understand what a bonjwa is, however its interpretation is arguable given there are no hard and fast rules. Also, for some reason people think only BW players can be bonjwas, despite the fact that in real sports there are players who dominate for much longer periods of time. Is Tiger Woods a bonjwa of golf? Was Lance Armstrong a bonjwa despite his doping scandal? It's a dumb word open to interpretation.
MVP won 4 GSL titles in 18 months, something that no other players have achieved and is an extremely honorable feat given how many quality players there are, and how many people play the game (hundreds of thousands worldwide, hundreds professionally). None of the broodwar 'bonjwas' won the OSL or MSL four times, and certainly not in the same time frame - perhaps because there were less tournaments to win because they were spaced further apart?
Is it fair to then compare SC2 bonjwas with BW bonjwas? There are way more SC2 tournaments in a year than in Broodwar - you'd have to win many, many more and hence be far more consistant to be considered a SC2 bonjwa if it was based on the time period alone.
Also its far more difficult to be a bonjwa in SC2 because Blizzard is still constantly balancing the game, whereas they effectively stopped around (2003 from memory?) for broodwar. This means if anyone is seemingly dominating to the same degree, Blizzard will likely decide it is cause of an imbalance in the game and nerf that race and end their reign.
In any case, I was clearly trolling the original poster.

Because that word describes someone like iloveoov, a person that completely dominated everyone for a good span of time. You can't throw that out after a player does well in 3 tournaments... He has potential, but he is not there yet.

game 2-4 is fkin unwatchable, will never pay for osl again! Its just a joke compared to gsl!

Darn, I'm not a fan for DRG losing but gratz to Rain man. This guy is good. Sometimes being a StarCraft fan is hard because when you enter the scene you cheer for the best players in my case it was DRG and MMA. MMA has been in a slump and now DRG now closes the Grand Finals. Not to say DRG is in a slump. Well played DRG better luck next time will continue to cheer you on my friend.

Am I right that there are still no VODs anywhere of these games? I really like Rain and wanna watch him win. =(
OsL, isn't that the regional league with poor vods and crappy English production ? The one that have been trying to shut down Gom for years but now sends player to codeS in a pathetic attend to get exposure ? Never will I watch such an insult to sc2. Die Kespa, GOM will prevail !

The vods were up at twitch.tv/ogn_star2/videos for a while but I guess they're gone now...? I can't find them or an explanation of where they went. The link forwards to an ogn page with a handful of league of legends vods.
Anyone know what happened?
