Dear Jinro,

I have only ever been to one live SC2 event, MLG Anaheim Spring Championship 2012. On the last night I had the pleasure of sitting with you and watching HotBid lie to Nazgul about some particularly shady connections he had with a criminal Italian organization in the local town.

We sat there and after talking for a while I introduced myself. Your response was to tell me that you were just thinking about how you should introduce yourself and extended your hand and said "My name is Jonathan." I smiled and told you I knew who you were and thanked you. We sat and talked for the rest of the game and from then on you became the most real and friendly "famous person" I had ever met. When I came home I got to tell all my friends about how I hung out with Jinro and how he was one of the coolest people I had seen the whole event. I used to cheer for you in GSL, being able to spend that short amount of time together as friends and to really feel treated as a complete equal in a place where so many players seem to act superior to their fans meant a lot to me.

So Jinro, cheers to you! Best of luck, I hope the fish treat you well.

On a side note, What will happen to Liquid's GSTL team? I doubt they will have enough players for upcoming season.

Good luck in the next chapter of your life, whatever you choose to do with it.

Your games inspired so much hope in all of us foreigners that we could compete on a high level with the koreans. Even though you couldn't replicate your results of those early GSLs your name still comes up every time a non-korean makes a deep run in the GSL and for that you should be proud.

We'll miss you Jinro.

I remember my first match of GSL I had ever watched. It was Season 3, You vs MC, You proxy thor rushed him, and MC DT rushed you. It was a close game but he barely edged you out. At that moment, Pro-Starcraft took a larger role in my life, I wanted to be like you.

Thanks for everything man! I remember watching you win MLG Dallas and going back to back Semi's in GSL. You were the one who made me a fan of pro SC2. Seriously, without you I doubt I would have ever got into esports. Good luck in everything you do!
