What a dumb write-up for a great event! The girl was the only bad thing of the event! Complaining about downtime? Are you serious? Eyebrows? GTFO

Quality of last few TL articles like this have been getting really poor. There's race and imbalance complaining and bias in the NASL write-ups and now theres people dissing on the legend that is 2gd? How can you be allowed to write up an event (especially a dreamhack one) if you don't know who the fuck 2gd is?

If you don't know him from before, you won't be biased. 2GD was fairly decent in Quake as he actually seemed to like that game.

However, 2GD doesn't seem to care at all for Starcraft 2. He is just another of these esports "celebrities" that tries to make some money out of any game that is the flavor of the month. Doesn't even bother to check on who the players are prior to a tournament he is casting and since he doesn't care about the game he has no clue about any player on his own. Just check his "cast" of the Swedish WCG qualifier where he outright insults the players and has no clue about anyone, who they are or what they have done.

As for the TL articles having some opinions in them, it is something at least I like.

2GD is a former quake pro. However he´s an esports profile, he's definatley not in it for the money, he's been working with esports for years now, commentating some of the biggest CS, WoW, Quake events in the world. And also helped develope the esports game bloodline champhions etc.

He just goes to what-ever game has the most money in it (similar to Carmac). As far as I know, he doesn't even play or even like Starcraft to any degree, just tries to make a quick buck from it by throwing out some insults and not really caring. Have your for example seen 2GD do anything at all related to Starcraft that he isn't payed for?

As I said, he was (and is) decent when it comes to his involvement in Quake and casting that. But his lack of interest in SC2 really shines through when-ever he does something related to Starcraft. Much better to use people who are really passionate about the game instead then, such as Day9 or Husky.

Wheat is another example of someone who comes from the Quake community yet has switched over to Starcraft, he on the other hand does care about the game though and is eager to learn anything he can.

While on the "eyebrows"-suject. DongRaeGu looks and acts a bit like the "fuzzy eyebrows"-character in Naruto (Rock Lee), he also seems to practice very hard.

Bashing on the downtime between matches? Really? Just look at MLG, they have like 10 peeps on each stream sitting and fibbling around with stuff and they have hours of downtime, while DH.inv (with like 2-3 volunteers!) only used the time needed for the players to get setup, bathroom breaks for the players and nothing more.

Sorry for being "that guy" but as a swede I need to protect my dearest event.

PS. Not knowing who 2GD is, wtf man? Are you living under a rock or something?

Indeed, the downtime was non-existent to MLG's.

I agree with DRG to be honest. His interview isn't as cocky as some say it is imo. Thorzain is good and all, but he has his flaws.

Not the best write-up by Waxangel, but still enjoyed reading it.

DRG opened up against the Spanish qualifier winner Lucifron... which is not OK and was not a nice thing to do to poor Lucifron.

I really don't get this. In all tournaments, the best thing that can happen is that the best player faces the worst player in the first rounds, it makes the seed perfect. It makes it so the best players are around to for last, opening up for more and more exciting matches the further the tournament goes.

So could you please explain why it is "not OK" to have seeds in a tournament or to have the best and worst player face off early. Do you prefer to have the better players, such as Thorzain and DRG, knock each other out in the first round and the lesser players stay around for longer?

For it sounds very odd for a website dedicated to competitive Starcraft 2 play to complain about that in an official staff post. As it is the ground for all competitive play in all sports.

To be fair, 2GD on SC2 events is just for the laughs and such. Everyone knows he doesn't play it at all, but we like his dry sense of humor.

If he wrote that writeup complaining about downtime on the MLG streams he woulda got temp banned
, but I like the write up, the interview was great, and obviously he was trolling 2GD, if he could have easily looked his name up if he had wanted to.

It was a great event worthy of the dreamhack tag. That being said, I have huge expectations for the DHW 2011 web-cast. Im really looking forward to it.

Just wondering, who came up with the white-text combinated with a white background for the lead paragraph ?

T_T!

Well its some European tournament... they always get a delayed article.....
Only MLG gets a write-up within a week. Hmmm...
I wonder how much Sundance pays TL writers to get info about his show faster ^^

Hm. 2/10. Surprising, in all my days of reading TL articles I haven't actually disliked one enough to post. White text was awful, and the remaining text makes a subpar write up. 2GD part seems really distasteful, especially if it is a troll. I'd like atleast some element of seriousness in these writeups though I suppose thats just me.

Writers block perhaps?
