I remember Artosis stating in one of his BW videos that Koreans understood this Korean-English better (as a reply to him speaking like that). I assume TLO did it on purpose since in interviews his English is pretty good. | ||

I think what you both want to say is that TLO deviated from the standard English register and used a different one. Language varieties and dialects cannot be placed on a scale of good/better/best. Here, TLO has merely adapted his use of English to suit the register being used on bnet. To most people, this happens unconsciously - it's a natural to want to be understood and our brain's language center usually does this adaptation on the fly. I'm a native speaker of two languages (English being one of them) and I regularly find myself speaking like this online. It happened on ICCUP, it happens on bnet now - there is no conscious thought process that goes into it, it's just a process that takes place to ensure communication continues without a problem. If you've ever traveled to a foreign country and asked for directions or ordered food, you know what I'm talking about. Bnet English (if you can call it that) is no different to African American Vernacular English or Cockney - it has a use in a setting and is no better or worse than RP (the Queen's English), just different. Having said that, I have no idea how proficient Boxer is in standard varieties of English. Just saying that your uses of the word 'lower' and 'poor' are a little dated.  Actually, Mani and I were gonna try and do some research on ICCUP/Bnet English but it never happened.  | ||
