Pidgeot had no good Flying Attack until all the way in Generation IV where it got Brave Bird and it's still terrible. Of the Flying/Normals in Gen I, Dodrio is easily the best with a higher attack than Fearow and getting Tri-Attack. But at the very least you had a reason to get Fearow due to being able to get it much earlier in the game. Since you get pretty much get Pidgey and Spearow at the same time, there's absolutely no reason to even bother with Pidgeot. I left out the disclaimer this week that I don't take competitive gaming into account THAT much "Progamer pokedex is written with some knowledge of the competitive Pokemon scene, but not based solely upon it. There's too much esoteric meta-game knowledge to be explained to the casual reader. Instead, the combined portrayal of pokemon in various media are the basis for the analogies." | ||
