ret lost against the same build 3 times lOl
He sees every ling leaving the base, but doesn`t defend properly oO
really sad!
<3 ret
|
Great commentary, love day's analysis ^_^
|
Nice games. Sen had some sick timing with his zerglings.
I had a bad feeling about ret ever since watching all those artosis vids... ret's well mannered and humble, which gives him a lot of fans, but at times it seemed like he had no self confidence. Always second guessing himself, lamenting his zvz, putting up polls for whether he should racepick or not etc. Ret just never exuded the aura of a champion.
|
fml i asked this girl out so i have to stop watching and go on a date.... GL GG
|
Fenix getting pwned by "one style" Mondragon already :D. GGs!!

mondragon deserves some kind of medal for keeping this game going so long. on 2 bases.

|
This cast rocked GREAT games and commentary
|
it was sooooooo entertaining!!!] Day9 did a brilliant job! can't wait for tomorrow, got reeeally high expectations for those games!
|
amazing how zerglings can make the greatest starcraft players fail poor ret... =( =( =( he looked so invincible in zvz after his Courage run
|
Thanks again for the LQ stream hope will be up tomorow too !

Lol at all the people that think self confidence (or rather acting self confident) is all that is needed. The only thing that may be useful for is looking good in the eyes of ignorant onlookers, but never for actually being good. It's self doubt that drives improvement.
I'd rather say ret's problem was being too sure of himself. All the costly mistakes he made were of that nature. May it be going for drones a little too much instead of zerglings, or may it be boldly advancing too far from the base with the zerglings he needed to defend.

It looked like he was expecting to hold on by just being so pro, and it didn't pay off.

These were finally some very very exciting matches. Going to the 5th set is always awesome.

What are you talking about dude .
Award for worst nonsense post in tl .

On February 14 2010 07:31 eckolove wrote: well skela just want start a flame war i guess..^.^ and i never forget the super flame ''violet u are an all in noob user'' Besides the normal stream they had a low quality stream running today. Which is great if your internet isn't that fast or if you want to watch on your mobile phone
|
Skela chill please. Not everybody is aware there actually WAS a low quality stream running. Eckolove probably assumed you were talking about the normal stream and being sarcastic about it.
|
No he confused me with Octzerg and flamed me because of that. Learn to read first my aka is Get.DuDuk it says on my signature.
|
This is my first post. I just started playing Starcraft maybe a week or so ago (I've lurked here a bit before that). These two matches were the first Live Feed matches I've ever watched (before it was only VODs on rare occasions)
If this is what the average Live Feed is like...well, damn. I'm addicted.

RAAAAAAGGGGEEE, Now no more chances of someone else other than Idra winning this thing, and no ZvP from Ret .

Tomorrow, Nony beats Idra and JF knocks out White Ra.
|
sen isnt THAT uber gosu i mean he is easy beatable from what i saw ... draco played VERY bad it was easy for him to beat this inactive p ghosta wasnt rly an enemy i mean ok he solid but not that caliber of gamer and today ret ... losing 3 time vs same strat like LING MASS ATTACK
Sen deserve it to be in semi final no question BUT if i see his games vs DaZe in clanwar or his traingame vs white-ra i can say he is definatly beatable
the problem is nbext round zvz again so he COULD be in the final otherwise i think Sen will be #2 or #4 because in the finale or match of 3 he have no chance vs ra/jf/idra/nony
sry but thats just my oppinion
|
No chance?
Sen is the underdog against Idra, not only because Idra is very good, but also because I think Sen's ZvT is weaker than his ZvP.
Against the others he definitely has a decent shot, however. White-ra very nearly got eliminated by Closer earlier on in PvZ. JF has been inactive and who knows how good his PvZ is. NonY is probably the favorite over Sen, but either NonY or IdrA will not be there because one has to knock the other out.
P i a n o M a n
|
Sen is awesome but I don't see him coming out on top either. I just think the others in the final are phenomenal and if my prediction is correct and Nony makes it to the final, I don't see Sen overcoming him.
|

People who don't think Sen can win this are just people who, up until this point, had no idea who Sen was.
Sen was the #1 non-Korean Zerg for the longest time, and it seems that he's angling for that title back, and I'd say he's pretty close to it.
|
*So* happy for + Show Spoiler +Sen and Mondragon! Rooted for both, no offense Ret but Sen looks on par. Can't wait to watch VODs.
|
Sen once told me that the more people underestimate him, the happier he will be and the stronger he will look in his games. Frankly speaking as a close friend of his I would also rate IdrA as a favourite against Sen anyday but those who think NonY will be a favourite completely has no idea what a monster Sen is in ZvP.
He made Draco look like Draco was out of practice because he was simply that DOMINANT. In fact draco has actually practiced his ass off way before TSL playoff stage started. Someone mentioned in interview that Dreiven or Infernal style of PvZ would have ended Sen's run in TSL but Sen actually destroyed Dreiven with a score of 5-1 or something during the final day of ladder stage. Infernal , on the other hand has been a very good friend of Sen and I'm very sure he knows Sen's ZvP is being underestimated.
There is only one thing for Zerg that he has yet to master and once he masters it, he will claim back his title as #1 Non Korean Zerg again. People who thinks Sen has an advantage because he has the huge chinese community to back him up in preparing for games actually has no idea bout his current situation. The gap between Taiwan and Chinese community is bigger than you can imagine. I say Sen is a monster not only because he has the mechanics to back him up but also his ability of learning and adapting. He improved his ZvZ from B- to A- in a day because I took him to Co-EX mall after IEF Korea and he got to learn Mutalisk ZvZ micro by just watching Jaedong in First Person view.
I would say up to this point, he only had F91 to talk to and discuss stuff with so think twice before you try to rate Sen again. HE IS REALLY THAT TALENTED.
|
Sen have beaten 1 who dont play enimore and 1 who started playing zvz a few mounth ago, lol yea soo good (sarcazm)
go mondy kill sen and win the big final
|
Hahha, so sad for retlovers .
Some people think Mondragon and Sen are like Nada or Boxer, glory of the past, but nothing nowadays, and as we've all witnessed yesterday - they are fuking wrong. Modern style of Ret got badly outplayed by old school style Sen, and I dare say, simply by underestimating the opponent. Fenix was boasting that Mondragon has only one style, obviously it's style that wins. I hope Fenix can watch this games and next time think what he wants to say, and shut up instead.
|
I remember when sen was the #1 Z. And thats when everyone was active. Hope hes back cause sen in form actually could get idra a run :D
|
Finally we have another great tournament after the cancellation of GOMTV Classic (just registered to say this ). Even though there are no Korean pros in it great games so far. I'm hoping for more 3-2 games like the ones we witnessed yesterday.
Impressive play by Sen and indeed it looked like ret had underestimated him. As for Mondragon it looked to me as if he could win faster and unnecessarily prolonged it by playing safe.
As much as I would like IdrA to succeed (in Korea) it's his turn next. Go NonY \o/
|
Really great Ro8 day 1. Sen worked out Ret's play and looked like it could easily have been 3-1 or 3-0. Not being a ling micro expert myself I don't understand what Ret does wrong or players like Castro and Sen are doing that makes those initial ling engagements seem so one sided. Day talks about the concave so more lings can get their attacks in but that doesn't seem to hold water in the last few ZvZ's we've seen
Really liking the ZvZ's at the moment, ZvT was a bit tame in comparison, probably because Fenix surprisingly lacked aggression early game. He didn't seem as good as he was vs Koll anyway.

lol @ ajmbek and all the others who keep underestimating sen (mostly new people I imagine from their post count). rofl is all I can say. Sen was imo the #1 foreigner for a long time, maybe you weren't there to witness it, but let me just remind you of that. I remember when Sen, Testie and Mondragon were at the top, ToT was just demolishing everything. I was downloading their replays to learn to play. So thank you Sen Mondi and Testie.
I am sad to see ret go though.
Nice epic macro games Mondi vs Fenix.
|
Well, im sad ret lost, but congrats to Sen. On the other hand Mondi won !! O yea, nice matches, can't wait for more.

Was very surprised how one sided the liquibet voting was that's for sure. Glad I bet on Sen though

Anybody who is old school should know that Sen was once the best ZvP player in the foreign scene.

We'll find out tonight, at least that way we'll see a nice ZvP in the finals
|
Sen is an incredible player and if he reaches the finals and plays a protoss I'm quite sure he will win. However the chances of IdrA losing combined with Sen winning vs Mondragon is very small imo :p (Mostly because IdrA is so much further ahead than all other foreigners)

mondi vs nony would a good final. Don't count on idra to win the whole thing just yet.

Very convincing victory from Sen. There is SO much "ret love" going on here at TL.net thought! Very happy for Mondi as well. Incredible series against Fenix. Really fun watching those and hopefully we can watch him all the way to winning this.

that is what happens when you stream b/a level broodwar. Hope he'll be back with that someday

wow really looks like sen is back in shape for this
|
and all of the people hating on sen must forget he was the best non korean for a little bit untill draco got really good and went to korea. I think for sure he was better then mondi when he was at his prime
