Interesting overview, but I highly disagree about the Light, Movie, hero group. We have three players of different races here, who are showing promise (once again, in the case of Light) and might be one step short of making the really big splash.

How about his last MSL group, which he picked personally, only to be eliminated by go.go and Zero?

Wasn't this OSL?

gg-emo. I see nothing wrong with that name.

Yeah, he was eliminated from the OSL by go.go and Zero, although he only picked go.go iirc.

He DID pick the majority of his Savior, Magma, Zero group in the Lost Saga MSL though, which eliminated him too.

The 2set of Calm-BackHo should be a recommended game, it was pretty sick. Some unorthodox play from both players.

Great job on the article!

I was glad to see (P)Pusan advance as well, since I'm not a fan of (T)fOrGG or (T)Canata.

(P)Bisu losing was almost predictable. He was the safe bet, of course, but it seems to really be a habit of his, as you pointed out...

Stop making fun of BackHo T_T, hes always beena decent player. Before he broke his back he was ranked 20th in KeSPA.

However I agree that 1. KeSPA rankings dont mean much anymore, and 2. that BackHo failed ALOT after slipping his discs.

Good article :D

I'm happy with the first 3 groups, exactly what I wanted to happen.

Hopefully Kwanro, ggaemo (ROYAL ROAD?!), and Light make it through their groups now.
<Wolfpox> i remember when MVP beat that one guy, and everyone was like 'whoa' except that penguin dude.

nice write up shikyo

As far as everyone saying they feel bad for bisu...

Artosis reported that both really and bisu only prepared for each other and ignored shine and while it sucks that jaedong and bisu won't meet or stork and bisu, it kinda goes to show how fickle starcraft is and how you can't take any of your opponents lightly.

What? If Bisu really did do that then thats terrible. The map pool is good for Zergs and Shine has an amazing ZvP (like every other zerg it seems). Thats really disappointing =/

Phrases like "cough cough cough B cough" or "I guess [ggaemo]'s kind of gotten BackHo's job of sucking since BackHo got decent " should not be in news articles. Respect both your writing as well the subject matter.

Good main post, I can't help but feel BackHo deserves a little more recognition than being a "slight challenge" to calm. His game 2 was pretty close: if Calm's spire had been located in his main, BackHo would've won the game or at least been in a reasonable position. The thing about BackHo is its hard to tell if his strategies are actually brilliant (if they were random he would've shown one spectacular failing that series, which he didn't) or if he's just randomly trying something and succeeding, although we might write off one as the other without really knowing.

To the second part, Shine[kal], despite being a ZvP sniper for Wemade, had mediocre plays all of last year: just watch his games vs kal and anytime on Medusa (among many others). He gets severely outclassed even by the ossified ACE ace. While his play in the series was undoubtedly good, it certainly wasn't expected.
