##Commence Space-Time Destabilization
I'm claiming named town. I'm Neil deGrasse Tyson.
I've been thinking about this for a while now. I wasnt sure how to play this out or what do to. But i figured the best way to do it was to be open about it so that town can benefit the most from the information i am about to give.
I have a 1 shot ability (##Commence Space-Time Destabilization) that in 5 phases town will give a great benefit to town. Some kind of hint/info will be sent to me. I don't know what it is though. The downside is that the corruption level will increase by 1. (the flavor is that i spend a lot of database capacity to study "Event Horizon Level" and spent 5 phases doing that and will then have found the answer)
Further more I will show up as "3rd party" or "not town" if someone check my alignment. (i wasn't sure if this was town to write this. But my thought was that i'd rather be upfront and let you make your own conclusion instead of being checked N1 and then fight the uphill battle with the rest of the town and let mafia ride it out)
I also have a somewhat useful night action (for town) that i won't disclose for now.
I thought about what this will mean going further:
This will put a target on my back. I'm hoping i can be protected. And if not it will help other townies to come to their own conclusion.
This might be disruptive on the short term, but i hope the long term gain out weight this.
I wanted to do this as early as possible so to get the info as soon as possible. And figuring we dont vote on this day i thought it would be better to do it now rather than later.
I don't know what the corruption increase will do, but i'm willing to take that risk. I hope you do too. I didn't want to ask about this since it would be a whole lot of discussion where no-one knew anything anyway, and if we ended agreeing that i shouldn't do it, people would wonder if i actually could or not.
Anyway. Thats my claim. The timer should show up in thread so you can see my ability is real.
I'm in meeting the next 7 hours, but will do the multitask thingy =)

Well, if its like my own one off power it just sort of happens. I don't think my ability could get roleblocked (i cant be sure of course).
I'm also noting that greymist didn't do anything. This might mean nothing or it might mean it was a fake ability. Why rayn would do that i don't know. That's why i want more information. Right now it doesn't mean anything without any context and that makes me think its scummy.

I dont know. I thought it would decrease at each phase end. Maybe its a whole phase. My pm just says "...decreasing by 1 each phase." So... thats not how i thought it would work.
I agree it might not mean anything, but it still worth noting for the future.

I dont know how many to send. (if we think we can control any of this). sending at least 1 seems undeniable good. so does sending more than 3.
here is how i see it:
sending 1 person: Gives us the chance to semi-check that person. if they go we get the info they give and can make our reads of that. If they dont go we can see it in the corruption increasing - thus making them scum for not playing with town. If we end up sending a mafia (or any 2 player faction) they can swap between them if one have a better night action than the other. We would have a hard time knowing if this happened.
edit after writing the other scenarios below: This opens up to someone going that we didn't choose. They can then use this information for themselves.
Sending 2 persons: Similar to above, but one of the 2 can just not go and do their nightaction anyway. Then we can only make our reads from the info they then have to fake.
Sending 3: Gets us the most info since we get 3 different kinds of hints. BUT its so easy for scum and/or 3p to go themselves to increase corruption.
Last scenario: Not deciding on anything and let people figure it out on their own. This option will not really give us any infomation going forward as we dont have anything to compare to.
all in all i think we should send 1 or 2. None seems like a missed opportunity. 3 seems risky if we want to keep the corruption low.
Now i dont have time to figure who should go or what they need to check. Hopefully i can get to that later...

I'm to tired to make an effort to make this cleanly. So you'll get my thoughts all together.
I on the fence about rayn. Some of his posting seems really townie. His (smoke induced?) ramblings from last night is not a very typical thing for a scum player to do. They know its too easy to fuck up and get caught.
At the same time he lied. LIED. openly and admitted it. Thats not a very townie thing to do. And the explaination is very weak too. "I had a plan. Forget that. Made new plan. I lied, but trust me now". He even waits a few post before explaining that he no longer know shockeys alignment. If you plan changed shouldnt you tell town? I dont know. Its just such a weird thing to lie about.

I vote that only 1 go. I dont care who but only one. Seems so much easier to get some information about if that person actually went or not. I dont really have an opinion about who. I can't figure out who should go. Iamp? Everyone think he is town and he sorta wanted to. He also havent been pushing the idea like some other people and i like sending one that does really really want to go i case they are 3p or some shit.
Check Rayn because i dont get it. or check grack because he is scum or check the corruption counter
Last but not least: All of you who said everyone should go are stupid. How will you control if everyone went? It only takes 4 people for the counter to increase leaving 8 (eight!!!) people to do as they fucking want and we wont know. With the setup being at it is they can just write something convoluted and no one would know better.

Its not that you should react. Many havent reacted. Its the fact that you did and then didnt at all anyway. You made a list. And one of my most important posts you just sorta forget but remembers anyway?
If you know that you going to the database is a huge win for town why not try to make it work? Prove to the rest of us that it would be the best idea. Instead you give up. And you didn't even properly try.

I don't know if it will be a hint or what. It says it will be of benefit for town and sent to me. I dont know. Maybe its a master check on everyone at once (sounds to OP tho)?
I wrote it up front because there is a count down. So it would be transparent later on anyway. And dont say you wouldn't have asked: "Level 5 - what does that mean?"
This way i wrote all the information i have and let town decide what to do with it.
Protect me if you want or dont. I dont even know if there is protection in this game. I think my claim is also so much in the grey area that scum might even not KP me and try to get me lynched instead. So it might go either way.

Regarding my thoughts on the database which some of you have questioned.
I initial thoughts was to send 3 people to get as much info as possible without increasing corruption. I don't see corruption increasing to be anything positive for us - especially because my role ability makes it out to be a price payed for a town benefit later.
With that in mind i changed my opinion to send 1 or 2 so that corruption didn't increase and ending on sending 1 since it would be easier to "control" the events and thus gain infomation from that.
I have never said sending everyone was a good idea. Quite the oppsite actually. I called people idiots for saying it. I think the setup is convuluted enough that people can claim to have gone to the database, make stuff up and we would never know.
All if this should be clear if you actually read my posts instead of just guessing...
That being said. I dont think we are at a point where there are consensus about who goes, checking what or how many. So if the corruption increase anyway we might aswell send as many as possible.
I won't be going.
I welcome any check on me. Both my role and what corruption level increase. My role isnt affected my the level of corruption besides that my one off ability would increase it by 1.
