Day 2 Near a end of a normal day in Laz, its citizens would retreat into the privacy of the multiple taverns. Tired after a long day's work, citizens relished in the ability to spend time socializing and enjoying merry times with one another. Nobles were no exception, in fact most owned one tavern or another. For them, it was also a way to show off their wealth and fame, as well as a place to perform under the table business. Superbia was no exception to this trend among nobles. He owned the Uirm’Belg, a four-star rated tavern, outfitted with some of the best beverages around. Its interior was furnished with a bright cherry wood floor that accented the dark oak walls. The bar counter was made onto of a stone foundation, with a long piece of cherry wood topping it off. Chairs lined the bar counter, ready to be filled with the late night crowd. The Tavern had several booths littered around the room. Other attractions such as a dartboard and a small place for musicians to perform existed as well. Superbia walked into Uirm’Belg, ready to set up the tavern for the night. He opened the front door after fumbling with his keys for a second. He walked across to the bar, his feet causing the wood to creak with each step. Suddenly, the door closed behind him. Superbia looked around frantically, trying to make sense of the matter. “Who..Who's there?” He screamed into the darkness. He waited, his hand reaching for a glass bottle. Nothing but a haunting silence responded. Superbia shooked his head, and went to reopen the door. The wood creaked again with each step he took. Louder and louder. Superbia paused with terror. The wood continued to creak again. Creak, creak, creak, all angles that was all that could be heard. Creak, creak, creak, almost like the floor head a beating heart beat. The sound, the maddening sound, surrounded Superbia. He started swinging the bottle at all directions. Creak, creak, creak, Superbia cried out for it to end. Creak, creak, creak, Superbia tried to throw the bottle where he thought the sound was coming from. Creak, creak, creak, A sickening scream was emitted from Superbia’s lungs. A burning sensation had overtaken him in his chest. He lost all will to stand anymore. His ears, the only thing left working. Creak, creak, creak, Hours later, Superbia was found dead in his inn, the Uirm’Belg, by some guards who were trying to find him for his duty. Superbia, a Janitor, was killed. You are a Janitor! You must pick 1/3 of the living players every night (rounded down). If any of your targets die, their role and alignment will be cleaned. Targets are not informed of cleanings. You cannot target the same players on consecutive nights. You must use your ability every night. You can target yourself. | ||

The Gods deem a Change in Play A new type of bill has been introduced! The new “Reward” bill type shall empower the gods with a means to provide positive reinforcement to players in the game. Because justice is not merely about punishment! Reward bills: Please the gods and you might receive one of these. Reward bills are changes made to, well, reward a player. Duh. Is someone praising the hosting staff? Reward bill. Is someone having a lot of fun with the mad quackery being thrown at them? Reward bill. Gods are fickle, though. Rewards Like “Balance” and “Punishment” bills, each Reward bill must receive a majority vote from the hosting staff in order to be passed and enacted. | ||

That’s what the Vote Loans mechanic does. During the day phase, you can obtain a “vote loan” from the “bank”. This will increase your voting power today. But nothing comes free -- you will have to pay back the loan tomorrow -- with interest! The detailed rules for this mechanic are as follows. This mechanic is governed at the core by two parameters: Borrowing Limit and Interest Rate These two numbers will change each day; both numbers will be publicized at the start of each day phase. To take out a loan, you must submit your request by PM to Irresistible Object: ##loan <amount>
The identity of borrowers and the amount they borrowed is kept secret from all other players. Note that there is a 1-day cooldown for taking loans. It is not possible to take loans on consecutive days. Feel free to discuss the mechanic in thread, post claims about taking loans, and all that jazz. Q & A Can I choose not to repay the loan? No. The bank will “file a lien” against your “income” to ensure repayment. In plain English, that means that hosts will automatically deduct the repayment amount from you. What if the repayment amount is more than I can afford the next day? Borrowing limits and interest rates will be set in such a way that the repayment amount will not exceed the 1 vote “income” that you will receive at the start of the day. What if after taking out a loan I die before I can repay it? Do you really care? You’d already be dead! Your insurance or estate will take care of it. If you have further questions about the rules / procedures surrounding this mechanic, post in the thread in bold green text and answers will be collated here. Certain legal services are also available. Item trading is now available. PM the host account (Irresistible Object) during day phase to give an item to someone else. ##giveitem <item> <recipient> If you change your mind, you can cancel the action, also via PM, using ##cancelgive <item> The item will be transferred at start of night (after the lynch). The transfer will be aborted if the recipient is dead. Item trading is not possible at night. You may also write a will to bequeath your item(s) to another player(s) upon your death. To bequeath an item, PM the host account (Irresistible Object) ##bequeath <item> <beneficiary> You can change the beneficiary by sending another PM, but do note that there is a one-phase cooldown for this action. (e.g. if you bequeath an item on D2, then the ##bequeath action is on cooldown for N2, and you cannot change the beneficiary again until D3.) The Gods deem a Change in Play Paper planes The City of Laz holds a festival for their warriors every year in the springtime. Citizens would take the names of the fallen warriors, those who were not able to return back home, and put their name onto a piece of paper. They would write a message to that warrior. They finish off by folding their messages into paper planes and throwing them up in the air all at once. Most are picked up by the city’s cleaners.

The Gods deem a Change in Play Weather Forecast for the City of Laz. Issued by the Royal Meteorological Authority Cold in the early morning, with heavy fog from last night continuing to linger into the daylight hours, although it is expected to dissipate by noontime. Today will generally be warmer than yesterday but temperatures are expected to remain cooler than normal for this time of year. Most models agree that skies should remain clear for the most part, with possible light showers to northern parts of the city thanks to a weak system passing close by in the afternoon. One outlier model seems to suggest that the system may in fact pass right through the city and bring heavy rain. We are continuing to keep a close eye on this to see if the model will track closer to the general trend as the day progresses, or if it continues misbehaving. Wind will be light and variable with occasional moderate gusts. Citizens are urged to dress warm and plan ahead for possible wet weather if traveling. Have a pleasant day! | ||

Night 2 Laz was on edge with the recent deaths of the heirs and other officials. Newspapers had already began printing potential names for a killer. Despite there not being enough evidence to prove anything. “Serial Killer on loose!” and other titles were paraded around like hotcakes. Even some Newspapers were focusing entirely on the deaths. ExO chuckled as he read a newspaper. Neatly, he folded the newspaper back into its original condition and placed it back on the news stand. He nodded to the stall owner and went off walking down the main street of town. It was about noon with rush hour coming in for the dozens of business stalls and hubs off of the street. Exo walked around, greeting citizens left and right. Meanwhile... If NcGibber had wet dreams, this would be one of those. Inside a store roof, a devious contraption was prepared to be fired. It was a makeshift catapult. The improvised catapult used the building and other materials scattered about in its construction. Its creator stood ready, holding a sword to release their creation. All that was needed was a target. Exo continued to walk down the street, waving to everyone in sight. His mood was almost ripped out of a child’s story book. Filled with happiness and joy, he made his way to a stand selling fresh bread. He reached into his pocket to buy some. A loud sound was echoed around the street, belonging to an object of incredible mass. Heading straight for that stand. The thud as it hit the ground almost equalled the sheer ridiculous of the object that landed on the stand. Citizens scream all around. In pure states of shock over what they just saw. A garrotte with a blow up doll in it was all that remained of both the Stand, and Exo’s remains. The Gods deem a Change in Play Government inspectors preparing to condemn an old, abandoned tavern have salvaged a magical item from the dilapidated building. An Ouija Board, an artifact that permits communication with otherworldly beings! Each night, one poll question may be submitted to the Ouija Board along with a maximum of five answer options to pick from. There is no restriction the content of the question or answer options. (Please do keep question to a reasonable length -- no WoTs -- and simple options.) To facilitate this, hosts will run an election in the voting thread.
