His play does seem like getting survivor and having a problem with the role existing in the first place.
It explains why he would mock Chezinu & I, and then proceed to wreck town after actually really helping it a lot- in a way so strange that scum just shouldn't risk it- and then not care when he is being lynched.
Or he is brilliant scum, which is actually quite possible. He is a psychologist irl; possibly why we disgust him.
