I guess I'll count this as town conceding! Mafia Victory Mafia had 100% perfect night actions, they roleblocked gunsmith and killed cop n0, and roleblocked gunsmith and killed townie n1. It literally cannot go any worse for town. Giving the gun away on n0 is mostly a gut shot, but being the gunsmith, you will always know who shot, so it's probably a good idea to do it. Even if you fuck up and mafia gets the gun and takes out a townie, you can claim and tell town to lynch the mafia who had the gun. Veteran should always claim day 1. This didn't matter this game because the gunsmith got roleblocked, but the veteran can act as a leader to town and be a free clear on n1 for the gunsmith to give the gun too. incidentally yamato wanted to give the gun to xatalos anyway, so in the end it didn't matter. The chance of mafia hitting perfect night actions is really low, but it somehow happened this game. It was a combination of luck (town unlucky vets got the blue roles, mafia lucky to hit the blue roles) and failure on the part of the vanilla townies to impact the game. Robik did well on day 1, but if he had played more actively and aggressively on night 0 he could've maybe taken the shot for rayn. Although ironically, mafia night actions were SO perfect (I've never seen anything like this) that rayn checked geript, who also got lawyered by the mafia so rayn would've gotten an innocent result on geript. Your goal n0 and d1 as town is to be so scary to the mafia that they will be forced to shoot you over someone who might be a blue. Being vanilla is probably the hardest part of this setup as it means you're failing in your role if you don't get shot. no one managed to outshine rayn on n0 (it's questionable if it was good play for him to play so actively, but I digress, it's normal for him to do so, so maybe the mafia might have suspected something if he went afk). Mod notes I fucked up twice over the course of this game. First I just zoned out and forgot about the game leading to a very late n1 start. That's completely on me and I apologize. I also said to Xatalos town would lose if they didn't have gun, because I didn't anticipate the possibility of mafia roleblocking gunsmith, in which case the game goes to a vote race. I assumed when you asked me that if town didn't get gun, then mafia got it, and that means instant loss for town. I apologize for that. I think for the rest of the game the calls I made were right. Specifically, geript's vote was simply after the deadline and thus didn't count (look at my day 1 post, where I emphasize the deadline). Although Tehpoofter tells me geript was intentionally trolling by posting after deadline, which I don't like, as people really shouldn't be posting after the deadline (I was tempted to modkill everyone who did, but there didn't seem to be any really particular malicious intent with the posts at the time). Thanks Robik for telling people to shut up. So yeah, bit of a mess this game from my moderating standpoint. Not my best work, I hope you enjoyed the game, as much as the game can be enjoyed when one faction rolls all sixes. | ||

posting spree at the deadline, meant he was town. GB was certainly the better lynch since he hardly cared about the lynch at all. I still think Damdred wasting his vote on ME (of all people) at the deadline and basically causing the death of Tehpoofter was so.... anti-town that it was hard for me to read him as town even in the end. I guess it's ironic that this same situation repeated itself again (I think a similar town vs town situation occurred in Titanic between us?). Maybe it was an uphill battle from the beginning, with the perfect scum actions and all. There was still a chance of success with GB being very close to being lynched though. I did consider claiming at some point on D1, but I was universally townread (at least until the very last minutes) so I thought there was a good chance of 1) me being NK'd and 2) me being given the gun. Maybe even both haha. Unfortunately I kind of slipped that I was blue in the end (making it very dangerous to shoot me). That's what I thought Palmar meant by my "big mistake". Oh well, luckily enough yamato would have given me the gun anyway. (Fun fact: I really thought that yamato was scum at the very end of the game. Reason being that Palmar responded to my PM even though all 3 scum had been on Damdred for hours, meaning that the game was not yet "over". I guess Palmar just delayed the endgame post though. And sorry for ranting about the host PMs in thread btw, I should have been more precise with my questions too.) | ||
