Maybe. But I think rules like this take away actual scum hunting tactics. You focus on one person the entire day, and when they flip, you have basically no reads outside of that. All you have is the guy who pushed on you, and who knows if he is mafia or town. You can't get a read on him because he used a stupid rule that had nothing to do with his alignment.
So forgive me if I'm a little skeptical.

Because from my experience, and the only time I've ever seen it used, it was a town who used it.
Now I'm not giving Eden a pass for it, but it could be likely he is town.
But it's also possible he could be mafia trying to trap a town under a mislynch.
