There's literally no reason not to try to take bullets for blues. It's really not a black-white thing. I want my blue alive as long as possible and if I can take a shot for him, then i'm going to do it. There's every reason not to take a bullet for an unconfirmed blue, especially if the alternative is shitting all over the thread to do so. If no one leaves cover for a cop (for example) by leaving fake checks, then the cop can't safely leave his checks. If mafia kills the cop before the cop comes out, which will be easy if no one else is leaving any semblance of certainty about reads, then town doesn't have a boatload of information that they could readily have. You're vastly over-valuing blue roles, and underestimating the shitfest you create by claiming. Like if you fake-claim, who cares about the "information the real cop could have" if no one's going to trust any claim anyway? Then you have a cop alive that no one can trust. Hell it's generally really easy for mafia to find the real cop regardless. Additionally, if everyone leave fake checks, then some people can be given some extra slack and potentially cleared cause mafia should be blue hunting. Obviously, this can be leveled by the mafia, but then the cop stays alive for longer. I have literally never seen a single mafia lynched in a game of forum mafia because he/she was caught "blue hunting." | ||

Claiming blue and getting lynched is not an impressive list of achievements. I will say, I was feeling still kinda ok about getting lynched until I found out MM1 was town. | ||

well there was that game you drew out the veteran claim from another player, thus warning mafia off him and giving town one less mislynch you even admitted culpability for that at the time | ||

yes after game that was a "bad" decision, but i cc'd his role, and didn't even lynch him when i realized he was most likely "town favored". bad claim? yes. bad claim based on circumstances? i doubt. in the same game i also saved our cop on D1 and fucking made mafia squirm with their "claims". i also NEARLY got the last scum to believe i was SK and not try to kill lthe other dude AFTER lylo.  sooo--- | ||
