This is like the only good post in his filter. I would have liked it better if it would have been "you should have waited until..." but that's nitpicking.

All the other posts are not simply not scumhunting, not putting himself out there, not advancing the game. There might be a question to BM that is decent, and a couple meta thingies about VA/Koshi. But those meta thingies are simply "facts", they don't get applied.

I think Xatalos is townie from what I know of him. This seems nitpicky.

I don't think so at all. You have four or five people listed, you only barely called one of them scum, you're not really asking questions of any of them. If I was on that list I wouldn't feel any need to respond to anything Xatalos said. He talks about suchdoges suspicious behavior then says it's more likely town than scum so what is he even getting at? I wish people would stop posting lists like that, they're the worst posts ever.

No. I have a couple of similar strength though.

All I see in justanothertownie's two-page filter is kinda pointless oneliners in which he commits to almost nothing. For all I know he's doing work in PMs, but based on his thread presence so far he's another possible scum for me.

This one isn't a scumread as such, but as long as Captain Obvious continues to post only "obvious" stuff and committing to nothing he's going to be next to impossible to read I think.

And then there's the eight or so other lurkers.

Of the active players I reckon at least most are town.

Maybe you could point out the scummy things in my 2 page filter then? Or is my thread presence the only reason for your read? You don't even have one filter page and call other people lurkers...

I hear this a lot of mafia players when I play live mafia. One of the main benchmarks of skill in mafia is other players not being able to trust if you are town or mafia. It becomes really obvious whether or not a newer player is town or scum, but not the better players. This is another self-aware weak player card that I feel would rarely be played by a town player.

Again, he's putting the onus on others to clear him as town. He also prematurely dropped the read on banks that banks is active as town and not so much as mafia. This is something you keep in your mind and say AFTER bank shows that he's active or lurking. Saying this prematurely is an indication that round never had the intention to read into banks.

I initially felt Koshi was town for this post, mostly because I agree with a few of the reads.

Namely, I had an early town lean on Banks for how he approached the game with enthusiasm and a burst of activity. While he's been spammy and rather silly at times, I do not see any nefarious motives in the poofter filter. Koshi picked up on this as well, which is a point in his favor.

I also shared a townread on Chairman Ray early on, because his posting showed obvious effort. While I disagree that roundabound has looked scummy, he obviously has a different perspective, and that is not damning. That said, I don't really know how good CR is at playing scum, so there exists the possibility that he could be mafia, which is why I will update my read soon.

I obviously also agreed with Koshi that roundabound looked town, because I've seen Robik post THE EXACT SAME WAY in a game of this size before, and the thread reacted in the exact same way as well. Mocsta is more difficult to read early, but I think Robik's head of the hydra is really town. Also he's high activity/high emotion early on so more townie points in general, outside of the meta comparison.

I agreed with the Chrom read at the time for the same reason Koshi lists; the sinani case was bad and definitely the sort of reaching play a mafia would make early on so he appears to be scumhunting. I haven't read Chrom's filter since, so he is also on my list, though I remember him asking a rather pointless question about my read on him that does not do him any favors.

He doesn't seem overly concerned with being wrong about his scumreads. I disagree with sandro that his townreads were terrible. While they appear thin, because Koshi doesn't really go into detail like I do, I actually think there were solid reasons to read those people town at that time, and Koshi picked up on the right posts.

While he's not LOCK CLEAR, he's not my choice for the lynch for today.

Koshi doesn't really play town in any one discernible way, so the argument doesn't really exist that he's "playing different than how he plays town".

It indeed ocurred to me although something like the tryhard announcement thing is perfectly in line with Koshis usual townplay. What he did after that just doesn't feel very tryhard. My secret suspicion is that if he is town he tries to post more like Foolishness which is a terrible idea especially for him. BUT he could aswell just post this way to make it harder to read him because he is a very easy read usually.

The entire conversation chain JAT talks about the fact I don't interact with the thread. Could he pick something even more obvious? This is what I mean that JAT is not taking risks in his game and his analysis is superficial. While Yamato is doing actual analysis and thinking about what is happening JAT is just saying the obvious "Koshi is not posting a lot". There is nothing more to it. In the first sentence he is even trying to make it a discussion point with yamato. One he can't possible lose.
I also have a problem that he found a pretty thoughtful reason to why I am doing this as town. It bothers me.

It's important because JAT hasn't done these kinda things at all this game. Yet now he does on a bit jokely post from me in reaction to a misinterpretation from poofter. Something that was cleared up anyway. Poofter doesn't need this extra clarification from JAT.
