well that money match wasn't sponsored by the tournament, it was a private thing set up by the two players. the dallas guy was backed by all his friends from texas and the vegas guy was backed by a pro poker player from vegas. it was just another match in a long series of grudge matches between the two. the game was marvel vs capcom 2 which is really old now, the only people who still play it are the people who are really good.

you gotta buy a stick and go to local meetups, it's the only way to get "good." otherwise you're playing online learning how to use lag tactics. I don't have stick right now so I haven't played in a long time. tbh i feel shitty for not hanging out with those guys anymore. someone's hosting an event at a bar soon so I may go to that
fighting games is what introduced me to weed, alcohol, and gambling so it will always have a special place in my heart
