This game will differ from a standard mafia game as there is no mafia faction. However, it still will require many qualities of a regularly mafia game including persuasion and deception.
It will be based upon the Big Brother reality show. While knowledge of this show is not necessary, it may come in handy at certain points in the game. Although the mechanics of this game will significantly different from Survivor and Survivor II, it may play out similarly if you wish to read them for reference.
Each cycle has two main phases.
1) The Head of Household Competition and Nomination Ceremony - Each cycle one player will be chosen as the Head of Household (HoH). The method by which this player is selected may vary from week to week. A player may not become the HoH two weeks in a row, until three players remain. During this period, each player must submit two nominations to the hosts via PM. The player who wins the Head of Household competition will have their nominations selected.
2) The Eviction - The players who are not nominated will privately vote for the player they wish to evict and remove from the game. In the event of a tie, the HoH will cast the deciding vote. Voting is mandatory and the vote count will be revealed at the end of the cycle, however the votes will remain anonymous.
When only two players remain, the final seven evicted players will return and serve as the jury to select the one and only winner.
Other mechanics may be introduced throughout the game.
This game will feature a limited PM system. Be sure to check the OP for the current PM rules.
Activity Requirements: I anticipate that the time required to play this game will be significantly lower than your average game. It will last approximately three weeks. There will be no official posting requirements in the thread. Voting is mandatory, but I will not modkill anyone who does not submit a vote. Any actions or votes that are not submitted by the deadline will be randomized by the hosts.
The length of each phase may vary from cycle to cycle, with a phase possibly being as short as 12 hours to accommodate a reasonable pace. While this game may not have a huge time requirement, it will require you to have a reasonable availability to frequently submit simple actions within a large period of time. I will try my best keep the OP updated with the current deadline and the future deadline. I will also allow some actions to be submitted early in the event that you are unavailable. For example, you may submit a list of players ranked in the order of voting preference if you are unavailable for nominations or voting.
Diary Room: At any point in the game, players may PM the hosts with a private diary room submission that will be broadcasted live to all the viewers back home!

With 10 players, the game will last at least 9 cycles at 48 hours a piece. It's possible that I could make the voting phase only 12 hours or combine the allowed time for the nominations/voting. Anything shorter than 12 hours per phase is going to cause availability issues.

VisceraEyes: Well Julie, I quit my job a few months ago and decided to watch the last 37 seasons back to back without any sleep. It may seem like a big commitment, but it's all going to be worth it when I win the half a million dollar grand prize.

Day 1 PM Rules: Room Selection - When the game begins, players will decide between 3 rooms. Room A will have 4 players, rooms B and C will have 3 players. Rooms will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis by typing ##Select Room A, B or C. Players that share a room may exchange PMs during the entire first cycle.
Day 1 Head of Household Selection: Players will have 24 hours to vote on the first HoH. Ties will be broken based on the first player to reach critical mass. All voting will be done in the thread and must be formatted as follows: ##Vote Julie Chen. Nominations must be made prior to the HoH selection deadline via pm during the first 24 hours.

Julie Chen: Wow, this season sure is starting to heat up fast. And with any season of Big Brother, you must also remember to expect the unexpected!
Julie Chen: As runner-up, by virtue of the tiebreaker, Oatsmaster has been awarded the Power of Veto! Within the next 12 hours, you may remove one of VE's nominations from the block. VE must then submit a new nomination in their place and he may not nominate the veto winner.
Onegu and Dienosore will be given 24 hours to wake from their comma. Otherwise, they will be replaced. After the first cycle, I'll probably have the next HoH competition overlap with the voting to speed up the game, but for now, you'll have a full 24 hours for voting.

Julie Chen: So I was brainstorming ideas for our next Head of Household competition and I thought it would be really cool if we could let you all out of the House and travel all across the world, competing in challenges along the way. I'd call it The Amazing Chase! For whatever reason, the CBS executives weren't that impressed. Just wait until I have my husband have a talk with them. In the meantime, we're going to do the next best thing!
The next HoH competition will be awarded to the player that receives in highest score in a game of GeoGuessr. You have 24 hours to submit your highest score, by providing the share link that is displayed at the end of the game. No cheating! Remember, we're always watching. As the reigning HoH winner, VE is not eligible to compete. The power of veto will be awarded to the player whose GeoGuessr target is closest to a predetermined hidden location. You have remaining. Remember that nominations must be submitted prior to the end of this phase.
Coagulation has replaced Dienosore and Mr. Cheesecake has replaced Onegu.
Day 2 PM Rules: For the first 24 hours, each player may submit the name of one other player to exchange PMs with. You may not communicate with your roommates, unless they are the player you submit. For the final 24 hours, each player may communicate only with their roommates.
