In fact it's crossed my mind on more than one occasion this game, because I've also been relying on them reading each other.
But Koshi literally just made a case on mafia and pushed it like fuck to get it through. When literally anyone in the game is lynchable. It was pretty obvious from my end of n1/start of day 2 that I wasn't at all sure who I should be pushing, so Koshi decides to come into the thread with a case on his mafiabuddy and telling me over and over that we should lynch his mafiabuddy?
