Meter readers fall in this category I think. The gas company is actually pretty cool, and getting cooler. If you can afford it in any way though, DO IT (college). A lawyer who doesn't have a practice until he's thirty could have a top floor office in LA and OWN farms as investments by 50, and be able to afford taking care of himself well enough to be able to enjoy it even that late in life. And his kids will probably be happier, especially if they grow up marginal and aren't rich until responsible enough to handle it. I know a family like this, great people. Whereas manager of Ralph's (fry's, Kroger store) will do fine but never escape middle class. But he will be secure in that middle class, assuming he isn't downright lazy! And that's not bad at all! (Another fam I know) | ||
