Not sure the newbie game wants me. This seems to be filling slowly, and I'm thinking about it.
Is there any indication on how weird this game is going to be? Lets say a 10-scale, with 1 being a normal game and 10 being Aperture, what do you expect from this game?
I kinda want to play some more normal-ish games before I jump into the weird stuff (DFM2 was an exception as I was bored)
K, the newbie game wants me after all and I don't like playing two games at once. A 7 on the scale of weird is probably too much for me at this point anyway Good luck filling the game, the space theme looks fun.
WTF. This started fast. There are some seriously big guns doing nothing much interesting for about 3 pages. That makes me think all that talk about veterans is code for spammer. Spammers make bad captains (true story).
So yeah, I'm throwing in my name for the captain chair. Here is my campaign:
Who better to clean up this mess than the most kickass janitor in space?
One last thing: this is not a roleclaim as janitor, Roger Wilco, sanitation officer extraordinaire, just happens to be more kickass than Jean-Luc Picard and James Kirk put together.
This is my campaign theme song. Look forward to hearing it out the ship speakers every day that I am captain:
Time to discuss some policy! If you vote for me as the captain of the Antioch I promise to be harsh on lurkers. I don't think a lynch all lurkers policy makes sense, because invariably at the end of D1 there is a better candidate in any case. I prefer to vig shot lurkers, because there is little to be learned from votes on them. I am good at keeping tabs on people and seeing where they stand on things, whether their posting makes sense and am tireless in the pursuit of scum. True lurkers will be flushed out of hiding, forcing them to show their true colors, or shot for insidious lurkering.
Regardless of who ends up captaining this ship, we need to hunt scum, so the captain has someone to toss out the airlock.
Everybody may be joking about lynching Ace, but his posts have been silly oneliners. If that is his plan for this game, I am not opposed to flushing him straight into space. It will get rid of one non-contributing player, and in addition be hilarious!
Either Sandroba is a mastermind scum who has duped several people including me into thinking he's town (in a very convincing manner). Or he's actually town. I like Ockham's razor on this one. ##vote Sandroba
Scumhunting by PM sucks. Calling out random people here. Layabout, you're helluva silent. Not used to you being so quiet. What do you think of froggynoddy? Frogs tend to live in scummy ponds. Do you agree?
Clarification of my previous post: this game by PM is working in exactly the opposite way I am used to playing. Rather than starting with everybody neutral and finding scum I am starting with everybody neutral and finding town. I'm glad that is a good thing for the mayoral vote, but it's not helping me one fig with the search for scum. Hence the random callout.

You have found a way to confirm a bunch of players and You're collecting claims thanks to this bullshit reason. You did not find a way to confirm a bunch of players out of nowhere. You're lying. You're fishing for roles. Since when TL Mafia has magic button "confirm town" in every themed PM game, huh? DON'T CLAIM TO SANDROBA. Don't claim to ANYBODY, it's DAY ONE. Day two isn't right either. Don't be stupid damn it.
I'm down with this, I'm not claiming to anyone, however nicely they ask

1) Democracy-I will hold an unofficial vote for who I will lynch.
2) Activity-I will actively help hunt scum and guide the town.
3) Transparency-I will reveal exactly what powers I get from being Captain.
4) Accountability- If, for any reason, I break any of the above promises, I expect to be lynched ASAP.
I want to put the power in the town's hands.
All you need to do now is convince me you're town!
That's the point.
It's impossible to know who is town this early in the game.
The next best thing is to set it up, so that in the unlikely chance that I am scum, the first thing that happens after I do something that's not pro town is the lynching of me.
That's basically a free scum.
That's assuming you're a really dumb scum. It's quite easy to look as if you're pro-town after the fact, and whatever powers the mayor gets, I want them in the hands of whoever I have the best town read on. Sandroba and GM have done a pretty good job so far of convincing me they're town. It's your turn.
chaoser! I find your MO similar to your GoT MO. You post nonsense and then disappear for all of D1. You were scum there. Mind contributing, or are you scum here too?

How do we know that's random? You might have tried seeds until it gave you the result you wanted. Plus, random vote is stupid.
Mind not posting my skype info in the thread :S I get enough spam as is, thank you. Other than that, it's all fine. Doc, can you please edit out my skype info in Kurumi's post? Thanks

Should I be worried?
I think I'm going to vote Ace, simply because I don't like the Sandroba, GM voting for each other business. THIS IS A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH NOT COURTLY ETIQUETTE!!!
But seriously I don't like Sandroba's stance on PM-ing and the Captaincy in general. I also don't like GM's response to my question:
On April 14 2012 06:56 froggynoddy wrote: Ok, sorry for lack of activity, built a mobile donkey shelter and then went to restaurant... too much Cognac. Back to the game:
Comparing campaigners content, I would like to vote for GM. He makes by far the most sense out of all those running for mayor. He isn't gimicky, he isnt super pro PM-ing (which admittedly has its uses late game, but seems to confuse the hell out of stuff early game), and his stance regarding 'enlightened despot' vs 'democrat' appeals to me. What I don't like is his vote on Sandroba. Similarlyto the premise 'push a lynch that you believe will most likely result in scum flip', our votes for Mayor should be 'who you think is most likely to summarily execute scum'. So my question to you (GM) is this:
You don't know that Sandroba is town, if you are town then you know for sure that you are town, threrfore you are most likely to find scum. Therefore why vote for Sandroba unless he's your scumbuddy, I don't get it .
Because sandro is my strongest town read ^_^
Also I hardly ever vote for myself in elections, its not respectable. Its not a matter of logic, its a simple matter of if I can vote for the guy running against me and he votes for me, its the same net result, but its much more elegant. Is it stupid? Probably. I'm going to do it anyway.
I don't see the Sandroba town thing, plus surely at this early stage the only town read that could be described as in any way strong is yourself.
Also we should vote for the person who least wants the captaincy, far more likely to be town imo.
##Vote Ace
Then why are you voting for Ace. You should be voting for a random person among the lurkers. They clearly don't want the captaincy, they're not even making a campaign! Or, if you don't like the lurkers, vote for Rayzor. He's managed to put his name forward and say he's a bad candidate in the same sentence! My bullshit detector is in overdrive here.
