A reminder that Bradley Wiggins goes off at 1507, with GB teammate Chris Froome starting out at 1500. Sky Bet make Wiggins the hot 4/11 to take victory while Froome is 16s. Tony Martin is the 4/1 second favourite, with Beijing gold medallist Fabian Cancellara an 11/2 chance.

Equestrian Apparently Zara Phillips and her GB team-mates celebrated their Olympic silver medal success with a McDonald's last night. Wonder what the horses got?

I thought it was very unsportsmanlike to deliberately throw the match on the olympic stage. Hard to swallow that suddenly we have two less teams competing for the event, but a strong message had to be sent to prevent this embarrassment from repeating in the future.


If they want to prevent it in the future, the first thing they have to do is to change the format. No athlete should be in a position where losing is more beneficial for them than winning...

: Britain's Eilish McColgan has been declared fit to compete in the 3,000 metres steeplechase despite being hit by a car on a training run. McColgan was completing her final run at the UK Athletics holding camp in Portugal this morning when she was struck a glancing blow on her left side, which caused her to fall onto the car's bonnet. Her mother, Olympic silver medallist Liz McColgan, tweeted: "Eilish got hit by car this morning in her run but thankfully she is ok. Just stiff back prob be bit worse Tomo. Lucky lady."

Gilbert is not really a TT-specialist, he rode our national championship on last year's form and no one came close. As you may have noticed he is not as good as last year and so is his TT, top 20 would be good if you ask me.

I know hes been out of from and a classics guy, not TT. Just hoping for an inexplicable performance I haven't followed Phinney much but a USA medal for Mens cycling would be awesome.

Really I'm rooting for anyone but team sky. Excellent performances lately but someone else needs to step up and take a win

Perhaps it could also help if the bracket is drawn after the group stage is finished. This way you wouldn't know who you'll face in the next round and till the finals.

Perhaps it could also help if the bracket is drawn after the group stage is finished. This way you wouldn't know who you'll face in the next round and till the finals.

That's definitely the easiest solution and would have prevented this mess.

Mens TT shaping up nicely. Wiggens and Froome not to far off the pace after the first 7km

Oh wow the pace has been set by Froome, 24seconds quicker in the next checkpoint (18km)
