it's not that hard for Riot to delay spring split by 1 or 2 weeks to at least give teams the option to play OGN Winter if they want to. Not that it would even be necessary because I doubt any western team could make it past a Ro8 Bo5 vs a korean team. Maybe they'd advance out of groups if they get lucky with the draw.

It was a different time. I just think the whole "Riot doesn't make things comfortable for us and doesn't let us participate in the best league in offseason :/" just proves that these teams either aren't sure that participating in OGN/NLB would help them improve, or they actually don't care about improving as much as about money/fame/comfort. It's all fine though, I don't hate, but I'm sorta annoyed that Riot is the bad guy because all these teams would foshizzle participate in OGN and improve if it weren't for Rito :p Because they're playing a video game that they likely wont be on top of for more than a couple of years more. They need to make bank while they can. Going to practice to be better would be fantastic, but it would also cost them a bunch of money for only a chance of making more money in the future. Their choice becomes obvious and anybody who says otherwise is simply some blind idealist who thinks that professional gamers don't care about money or something. Yeah the only thing that makes sense would be a boot camp in Korea. Before worlds it should be possible. Only problem is the good Korean teams wont help you practise.

There's so much meta hate on what Reddit will be hating on that it's almost just as bad. Relevant to game, I think Seraph isn't going to perform very well for a few games. It's a very different environment to acclimate to, and I don't honestly expect a lot from him. Additionally. Cop-Xpecial is my fantasy team. #Faith.

Probably carried Curse with it in a couple games last split.

They are seriously capped if they continue to play only NA. No, just fuck Riot and go to Korea, noone is stopping them, they can just play in second part of spring challenger series if they want to qualify from NA. that's a pretty bad financial decision for both c9, salary wise and with their ability to secure sponsors, OGN for english speaking sponsors is still extreme niche, LCS gets ~200k viewers 2-4 times a week during the season Then stay in NA and rack those checks, I just don't think it should be Riot's decision to let foreign teams invade OGN. Unless OGN does some Invitional in partnership with Riot as an extension of the tournament circuit (Regional leagues -> World -> Super-League in KR). Can't they really take small cut from sponsor's salary when they can still earn money from streaming or vlogs and shit... and actually compete in a good league where every match will be a challenge? if they can't make enough money to not have jobs on the side, playing in OGN won't make them any better, and the reality is the probly can't it's not like a moving to OGN won't let them drive Escalades argument But going to Korea worked out so great for CLG, C9 should be able to do the same! That CLG was naive and way worse by comparison. C9's problem is that they need to improve as individuals to supplement great teamwork. CLG didn't have any amount of teamwork to begin with. Korea is the only way I see Hai, Sneaky, and Lemon getting pushed hard enough to max out. Balls and Meteos seem to steadily improve mechanically. He was being sarcastic, CLG's trip to Korea costed them roughly 75% of TSM's fanbase, CLG was 'the' team before they left, and TSM has been ever since I'd argue CLG not streaming on Twitch is what cost them most fans. Yeah that was also huge. Cant believe that after this example some teams are still so stupid to leave Twitch. Even if you get twices as much money for streaming on Azubu it is not worth it. Because streamign is the primary way how you retain your fan base. And long term your fan base is the most important thing for the financial success of a team. Btw I am saying that as someone who likes and watches Azubu. While I agree that CLG on twitch would have a ton of fans and viewers, I think that it is a nice testament to their popularity with how relevant they are STAYING through largely just their play. As it is, only those who really want to watch CLG are going looking for them on Azubu. Additionally, I think the period that CLG was not on Twitch should be taken into account. The period of Own3d into Azubu was the height of the Twitch/LoL popularity explosion, where a lot of users became accustomed to using the service specifically for their stream viewing. It's hard to break into that market when there is a franchise that has such a strong base, and I feel that Azubu is doing well to pull people back to their brand with their relaunch, with CLG acting as a strong pillar to build off of. If the service takes off in any form, CLG will get a huge payoff in the long run.
