shield played ok but shouldnt have had such trouble against xs

save was sitting on like 3k gold for that first failed teamfight at mid inhib turret that got xenics back in the game. he bought an entire randuin's when he died.

First OGN game I watch in like a year.. most insane game ever
|
I'm in full work-mode right now, but tomorrow I've got time to watch one game. Was game 4 the insane one?
|
Yeah lol I randomly clicked on the twitch stream lookin for a short break from work.. got sucked into insanely long game. It was game 2 between Najin White Shield and Xenic Storm.
I really want to share this game with some friends, is there a place for VoD's of this? Leaguepedia says there are no VoD's available...

okay cool thanks, bummer about the paywall..
Edit: okay I'm failing at the internet, when does the rebroadcast start?

There are other, darker ways...
No seriously, back when I didn't have a subscription I sometimes got lucky just typing in the name of the match into the Youtube search function a day or two after the matches.

There's a lot of Save hate in here. I think most of the...unusual things he did that game were team decisions. Certainly the Lee Sin pick and the glass cannon splitpush build were. I'm inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt on trading him for the inhib toward the end of the game as well. I'd go so far as to say those were not even mistakes, unless you want to call the entire pick/ban phase a mistake.
Floating 3k gold in a teamfight is a little more suspect, and there's probably a mistake in there somewhere, but without hearing their voice chat, there's no way to know if it was Save's.
I'm not trying to say players don't make mistakes or that the team should accept blame for individual bad plays, but I think that the kinds of things people are trying to pin on Save are, at least in organized professional games, team decisions. It's not like he was facechecking bushes or wildly out of position during teamfights. He got dealt the splitpush Lee Sin hand and I think he played it pretty well.
Edit: They used to post the rebroadcast times in the Twitch banner, but they don't always do that anymore. One was at 9am Pacific. I think the second is 4pm? 5? I usually just leave the page open and hear it starting.

It's hilarious to me that Shield was rated so highly after only going 2-1 in masters and reaching semis (with a different roster) in a very weak bracket. I believe that one power ranking put them 3rd above Ozone even though they got beaten 3-1 in semis.

well grape is much better than his team.

Save's borderline innox levels of "Fuck you don't make me tank" feels detrimental at times and zefa/gorila when on point are fantastic but when they're playing bad they're playing baaaaaaaaad (I remember vs KTB gorilla being something like 0/5/2 in like 15 minutes). It often places a stupid amount of pressure on goong to carry which fortunately he did today. In theory watch's superior mechanics to nofe in the past should make him and goong a terror jungle/mid duo, they'll improve there's no doubt but the synergy between watch/goong isn't quite as good as nofe/goong which was incredible before nofe retired.

they are kind of like skt t1 2 in spring 2013. need multiple threats to proceed to teh next stage. when the other team can shutdown ggoong, zefa and save are supposed to use that opportunity to do their damage.

Losing to the 2nd best team doesn't make you the 3rd best team anyhow.

the entire lower bracket was overhyped. first the hype was on xenics storm for some inexplicable reason. i guess going 2-1 against the decomposing corpse of frost, with piccaboo and arrow showing some plays that paid off.
then they were supposed to win against shield but ggoong destroyed them, so the hype transferred over to shield.
then they got dumpstered by ozone and people were all like oh ozone is kinda back! but nop
the shield that was in ogn winter was pretty bad. but after watch switched with old man nofe they've improved quite a bit, judging from the games they did play in masters. but that was a couple games
