I dunno, someone more knowledgeable then me will prob correct me, but I can't think of a literal spot buy like this? Can think of lots of poached players, but not so many spots.

No doubt. I wish that we had time for riot to do a bracket for relegation, but that would require A LOT of time.

It's not the fact that the organisation EG bought the spot, what the name of the team they're playing vs is doesn't matter. It's more the fact that the mid tier players on VES got replaced by higher/top tier players, purely because EG has money.
DTG is being punished for playing the best in the qualifiers by having their "reward" of being last pick turned into a huge disadvantage by getting EG instead of a team facing relegation. No system should allow a team to be straight up punished for doing well, just because alex garfield has $$$

This way if they beat the supposedly strongest NA amateur team you can still say they deserve it. After all qualfying for the qualfier would have been way easier, they would have just needed to come to NA early enough.
Btw we should not get ahead of ourselves like usual, this was just the first game of a bo5.

All that talk about adcs and genja gets one mention. Didn't he have like the second best kda in eu lcs?
Say what you want about his builds or playstyle but he picks champions that suit it and he always ends up dealing dmg in teamfights. Did you see DL's trist? He had to get into range to auto then got vi ulted every time and was useless. Genja picking trist, jinx, ashe always manages to get in damage. DL literally w'd over the wall at blue and didn't auto at all. Give the guy some credit.

I mean I realize the series isn't over, but the games against Velocity would have likely been a way more sure thing.

If anything, Riot really should open it up to 12 teams, with group stages.

I don't really care to be honest, some of the decisions DTG (brokenshard facechecking same brush two times) were really not smart at all... I'd much rather see experienced, fun guys take the spot. Atleast DTG get a challenge now instead of a free ride into LCS.
