Getting stomped by Oddone didn't help either.
unless he conducted the draft that put him on an assasin vs an assasin + vi it wasn't his fault.
I mean, he could've watched every single other game TSM has played over the last year and figured out he'd be camped midlane and not overextended since Regi was worthless unless he had a lead.
I think Nukeduck is an incredible midlaner, I just wasn't impressed with his decision making at worlds - he was probably nervous or something.
The more impressive thing about this team is how ungutted they went, losing rekkles was fore granted but only one got poached. The last team that dominated challenger as hard as them was heimerdonger's colossi and NiP gutted them

Well they have very good chances to get into LCS (almost guaranteed actually) in contrast to Heimerdingers who were still too far away from LCS. Also with all the challenger tournament money they keep collecting I think they got more prize money than most LCS teams.
But you are right it is impressive how good of a team they were able to assemble again. One has to give respect to Youngbuck as the team captain here, he knows what he is doing.

Sad thing would be if they do well in LCS they simply get poached, and have to start from Scratch, yet again. It's inevitably going to happen.

For sure anyone who fails the LCS qualification will get poached or rather the teams will just stop existing. Though in that case I feel more sorry for the players that qualify and then get booted from their teams and might get replaced by players that didnt qualify.
honestly a terrible image in retrospect considering how korea won worlds, but in other news, c9 1 for 5 in international games, yikes.
I'm starting to wonder if c9 was just rusty due to lack of practice or if its a case of big fish, small pond in NA scene. Personally hoping its the former, as I feel like c9 still can go toe to toe with most international teams. its just that mistakes they make ate more readily punished in international fights compared to NA scene from LCS summer.
It is big fish small pond.
C9 in some aspects are better than most NA teams (Shotcalling, rotation etc) but their laners are nowhere near an international standard.
TSM is the only team that I think can challenge EU/KR/CN from NA next season (Barring any further roster changes).
XDG is like the opposite, laning wise they can stand up to most but their shotcalling and rotation are beyond terrible. Both of their wins came from shitting on C9's lanes so hard and snowballing off it and they would have been 3-1 vs C9 if it wasn't for throwbargains.
This was from a while ago but I feel it's only fair to remind you that one of those Vulcun wins was because C9 threw really badly (I think Sneaky did an aggressive arcane shift under the enemy turret). So...if we remove throws it would probably still have been 2-2.
