When: Starting from 12th November. Every Tuesday and Thursday 09:30 GMT (+00:00)
Round of 16: 4 Groups; Best of 3 single tournament
Round of 12: Best of 3 single tournament 1st round: Teams which dropped out of OGN Winter RO16 (4) + Winners of NLB RO 16 (4) 2nd round: Teams which dropped out of OGN Winter RO16 (4) + Winners of 1st round
Round of 8: Best of 3 single tournament Teams which dropped out of OGN Winter RO8 (4) + Winners of NLB RO12 (4)
That's awesome that there is English casting. I find it too hard to get into without it. Plus I'm so starved of pro Kor play that I have to tune in tonight.
Round of 12: Best of 3 single tournament 1st round: Teams which dropped out of OGN Winter RO16 (4) + Winners of NLB RO 16 (4) 2nd round: Teams which dropped out of OGN Winter RO16 (4) + Winners of 1st round
the first round are teams that placed 4th in ogn groups, and the second round are 3rd place teams I assume?
Prime in OGN seems like a very tall order, although I would love to see it, too. However the more realistic thing is probably for us to hope that KeSPA gets that 2nd league (the "LoL ProLeague") as fast out as possible, so we can see them there!
enjoying the sivir and ziggs picks, not sold on sivir as a good pick except for counter lanes, or very spesific comps. Interesting to see koreans do it though
Woah, they're jungling Olaf? Really curious as to how it goes. I'm in JonGalt territory right now, so I'll gladly welcome any info about how the comps are played/the game turns out.
Interesting how the bans have developed. Sivir got banned after the first game, must have worked nicely in their Nid+Sivir siege comp. Also interesting to see Syndra in full force now apparently, being banned both games. Very happy to see Olaf again and seeing 2 times Ziggs (one from each side even) also makes me very curious.

I've asked again and it's looking less likely to happen, sorry for getting everyone's hopes up about this. Basically ESL & NGTV agreed on it weeks ago but they're stuck without Riot's assistance for the time being.
for today's matches Syndra and Olaf are also disabled. There was a Syndra bug showcased in a NACL match but not sure why Olaf is disabled they didn't specifically say, they just say they're dsiabled

the top half of each group is the NLB part so for group A the winner of NB/KTA will play SKT S, and then i think the winner of that game will play the team that drops down from OGN
Damn, wouldve been great to see how these Arrows matchup with other Champions caliber team. Too bad they got a tough qualifiers bracket while the other teams had basically a free pass.

2nd game KT's frontline just seemed so ridiculous with Mundo, Olaf, Riven, Alistar. It didn't even seem to matter whether SKT managed to catch out Clown or not lategame.
KT Arrows 4-0 now against two teams from Champions Winter. Regrettable they didn't make it.

Assuming they don't take a break from their current schedule, January 4th(a Saturday) would be when it starts.
Honestly I'm not surprised that Jin Air looks stronger than before. They honestly have some of the best macro of any of the Korean teams, it's just due to their roster not having that good of the mechanics that prevent them from being the KT Bullets. I hope that they can get a strong lineup, because honestly they are a good team besides the untalented lineup.
Awww yiss, always happy to see jax be played Only one hyper tank, jax and kha jungle. NLB does know how to deliver on picks. O damn that flash stun. 2/0/1 kassadin before even level 6, this is over.
I think NLB is just amazing but if I could change one thing it's that either NLB or the teams themselves enforce proper IDs for these games. Last game everyone on both KT and Samsung had their correct IDs, which was nice.

I had a genuine double take when I saw ambition's ID, like "MIDSERF JOINED CJ WHAT" Well that fight was really bizarre and stupidly disorganised, I guess falcons still got some work to do.
Yes, Garimto is the coach for the Alienware teams. The Doublelift video was amazing, I just wasn't sure if he's still with NLB and the nature of the clip they just showed made him hard to identify.
Btw if anyone hasn't seen it yet, I will never get tired of this clip:
It's things like Cain on Annie support going morellonomicon against 3 ad, 2 with bloodthirsters that makes me happy. Also it seems like helios has become a laughing stock the past few days because of his poor performance in the korean community, his nickname for some reason is BuBae short for breaking bad but idk why ppl are calling him that, maybe in some interview he mentioned he likes breaking bad?
On January 04 2014 22:22 Fusilero wrote: I'm reaching the conclusion that when CJ picks blitz for madlife they've given up.
The roaming blitzcrank hasn't been too spectacular these last few days. Lots of roaming and getting under leveled, not a lot of plays. Frost definitely doesn't seem too confident this patch, constantly reverting back to things like Eve/Blitz, which I don't really understand because teams have shown the ability to beat that in the past. Especially a team like Sword who has been around and knows Frost's tendencies.
Something tells me this will be a very active off season for the CJ organization.
The CJ organisation seems resistant to change, the rosters didn't change until KTB completely and thoroughly embarrassed them in the Korean regionals. Blaze probably won't rock the boat but I get the feeling this might be the last we see of helios.

Botrk is kinda for snowballing, it allows shyvana to wreck top laners even harder in duels. Unfortunately shy has been dying loads to watch and (I assume) nagne's ganks. Also makes for some annoying split push, if it wasn't hard enough to catch her with burnout now she uses the active.
NJBS are really damn good in NLBs I just realized. They won both NLB Spring and Summer and again they look much more solid right now than they did in Champions.
the problem with the botrk rush is that you can be put in that situation when you are just not tanky enough for teamfights. Shyvana just gets blown up instantly here. Who's the mid for frost here ?

I think that expession/watch/nagne/pray/cain is the best roster possible, it's not that peng or ssong are bad but those 5 feel like the strongest roster of all the combinations they've tried.

The botrk build got screwed when shy bizarrely got solo killed by expession, kinda underestimated the olaf when he didn't have ult and top lane went south for him from there. Since he wasn't snowballing with botrk he has pretty much no items and tankiness now.

that was painfull. tryndamere had 3k gold and they lost the fight and the game without him spending it. it was his IE too, which he bought from a pickaxe when he died
Xenics are really starting to build a reputation for themselves, lol. I feel like there are a good 10-20 teams across all the professional leagues that would be exponentially more competitive if they could tighten up their shotcalling.
Thanks! And nope, not Korean, but I've lived here (not continuously) for almost six years now, though I don't speak the language anywhere near as well as I should. Might try and score a ticket for that game, the venue looks pretty nice and there's every chance the actual games will be more interesting than the OGN final. :/

Yeah, English teacher. I would actually love to see Ozone (or Shield, don't write them off yet!) bring down the SKT juggernaut, but I think this current SKT team is the best League of Legends team we've ever seen. Would love to be proven wrong though!
Actually pretty big game due to the high amount of circuit points NLB gives out. An NLB win + two good finishes in Spring/Summer put you into top four-ish of the rankings. And with the finals being in Korea they might actually get three-four spots when all things are said and done.
We be live boys, and there isn't an english stream, just watch the ustream its korean casters' excitement makes up for not understanding anything they say.
Well the final is sold out, which I just found out to my disappointment as I tried to purchase a ticket! Still, even though it's not really the largest venue, it's great for the Korean LoL scene that they can sell out the final of the second-tier competition days in advance.

It's Blaze vs. Sword. Huge fan bases + one of the best rivalries in LoL.
No surprise. The AFK-farm, split push to late game was one of Blaze's bread and butter since the days of Cpt. Jack.
They had some picks to give lane pressure but Blaze smartly rotated to always 2 v 1 Jax to restrict his farm. And Nagne could not seriously pressure Ambition even with Riven counterpick because the Elise>Olaf in pressure.

Xenics Storm would be a top six team if Blaze didn't poach Daydream.
Also I don't know how they let Blaze get Daydream, BaeMe and Emperor while Frost got stuck with Helios -- who had strong games with Blaze but was falling off by the end -- and Maknoon, a player who was moving to a new position and on his third team in less than eight months.

But Sivir in general just seems like a sub-par pick against the lane bullies like Lucian. Sure ulti is nice, but that's only if the rest of the team is ahead.
Sadly I think Blaze might just be too good right now, although Sword are not helping with their classic questionable decision-making. Winged played in the other NLB games so I guess they wanted to give him experience and let Watch rest in 'non-serious' matches.
I don't know what happened with Watch but I'm pretty sure that Winged played in all of Sword's NLB games this season, although I'm not sure who played in their game against Frost because I didn't see that one. They have to do the open qualifier (which will IMO be easier for them) That being said, this is upsetting to say the least. The only explanation I can come up with for SKT1's slump is the 3 champions curses they had stacked up from Worlds and 2 seasons of OGN plus the Pandanote all hitting at the same time. All we can do is pray it wears off in time for allstars or summer OGN.
Wait NVM I'm an idiot. Yeah, they're still seeded since they made RO8. They're just competing for points and the chance to beat up Najin Black Sword.

They are not guaranteed a spot, no. However they will be seeded into the final stage of the qualifiers and will only need to win against (most likely) weaker teams to get back in.

No, it's a seed. If you check the rules for spring seeding, top 7 teams from OGN Champions Winter were seeded (xenics did something dumb and had to qualify) By extension, assuming nothing odd happens, it should be top 8 this season.

Doesn't OGN have seeds for top-8 + NLB winner if this team wasn't in top-8? Because at least last 2 times they did so, with removing CTU and Xenics and seeding top-7 + NJBS sometimes.

Because Xenics were going through rebuilding process and you have to have 3/5 of previous roster to confirm seed.

Alright, no im not kidding. I dont usually follow NLB, i've never had to seeing as K wasnt ever in it and when I used to watch before that Azubu Frost was the team I followed and they really never had these problems either.
But good to know atleast, thank you for the help.
Also Bengi's champion pool is just awful, I know alot of people will say Faker played really bad today, while he did some extremely questionable calls I still feel that Bengi is the main problem since after OGN Winter. It's just really hard for Faker especially when both other mid laners have gotten a lot better and they have better junglers.

Bengi is slumping in general, that's nothing new here. I guess, his champion pool is ok, K's rotations aren't as crisp as they were before, that's it, so right now they have to have Faker and Impact dominating their lanes and then continue to roll. Piglet and Pooh tho improved a lot, i guess, they're going to be the best duo again in Summer.
Faker played mediocre tonight, CoCo and Swift just manhandled him + Madlife was sick tonight, dunno why does everyone flame him again, being a God forever isn't possible. I like how Swift is improving, Frost can be a real contender this way in Summer, if ofc they don't draw Blaze in Summer groups.

Nah you didnt, so thats fine, I should have doublechecked it myself seeing as the question might be kinda stupid in a thread regarding NLB lol.
But yeah, Bengi is definitely slumping but that last game especially struck me as very good game to show why I dont like his champion pool, I mean Frost banned Eve, K banned Lee and then Frost picked Elise and he was forced to go Nunu, since he doesnt really play the current FF junglers, hell I feel like a Nocturne should have worked fairly well that game.
Regarding rotations is definitely a problem aswell and I do agree with the hundred acre lane playing alot better again, also Godlife really did show up today, I really shouldnt put too much blame on K but it's baffling to think that this team did go undefeated just a couple of months ago.
Patches do really screw with teams that's for sure.

Impact just played these games very bad too, not sure why he insists on going ignite really, either way K is gonna need to really learn this patch/upcoming ones for them to even make ro8 next time:/
Np, sorry if i offended you somehow.
Koreans in general don't play a lot of Nocturne right now but Bengi played Xin Zhao against Prime in previous round, so idk. And Bengi played Nunu forever, they're just not using him as before sadly.

I would love to go back in time to the eve of the previous Winter semi-finals and tell people that T1K and KTB would meet next in the 3rd place playoff game in NLB.
