I don't think there's a way to make group stages without the possibilities of throwing- The reason why there is even a question of throwing is because seeding from groups doesn't actually matter so Fnatic doesn't care if they advance 1st or 2nd. If it mattered, then their first seed would be in potential danger depending on who else advanced, and people wouldn't accuse them of throwing because they actually still would have a vested interest in the outcome of the game. If it mattered they could still throw depending on the seeding.
If the tournament bracket were designed properly, and the seeding actually was an accurate representation of how the totem pole of various teams aligned, there would be no other incentives as winning as much as you could would reward you the most. Any tournament that has problems in its design, and does not necessarily reward a team for trying its absolute hardest is intrinsically flawed.

There's the tried and true "OGN/GSL/ect." method where it's not a true round robin but instead a mini double elim bracket for each group. It works perfectly in removing any incentives to throw. I mean with round robin group play where everyone plays everyone. Ah well there's two ways of doing that. One is to making seeding important which can be done multiple ways. Just off the top of my head is having the first seed pick who they play in playoff stage. Another way is having a double elim bracket where top seeded teams go to WB and bottom go to LB while 1st seeded gets to choose. Double elim is not round robin...

Only in the current situation. Even with seeding, there are still 'throw' possibilities. IE, if Fnatic didn't lose vs Vulcun, they would still be guaranteed 1 seed if they lost 1 game to gambit. I think with round robin, it is pretty hard to avoid.
Then there's still the alternative possibility of making sure that the two teams that actually would have a vested interest in each other's performance for regional solidarity reasons play on the first day rather than the last.
Like, the only reason this is even considered is because Fnatic's match order was Vulcun->Ozone->Gambit->Mineski. If they played Gambit on the first day or either of the first 2 day's games were today, there would be no question.
