Ah, I predicted a 3-2 for SKT, and I thought that was an amazing final -- maybe the best in LoL's short e-sport history -- and I know a lot of people are going to talk about Faker, and rightfully so, but I would say the MVP of the series was Piglet.
Every single game he played his heart out and was on fire. In game one, even when Faker had zero kills and was feeding, he was pulling out everything and was able to pull off incredible plays even when facing a gigantic deficit. Without Piglet's emergence this season, SK Telecom T1 does not win this season or beat Ozone in the semifinals.
He transformed from a very inconsistent, but mechanically gifted ADC into a player that is in the discussion for being the best ADC in the world. His progression through the past two seasons has been incredible, only really comparable with Flame's evolution between the winter and spring seasons when he carried Blaze to the finals.
Impact, PoohMandu and Bengi were also amazing in the latter part of the series. Impact was great in his utility role, doing the dirty work like usual. Mandu had that amazing triple kill in the fourth game. Bengi, after his first two terrible games, went on Vi and played three straight games where he outplayed Kakao.
Faker is just Faker. He played like everyone expected. He is probably the most mechanically gifted player in the world, and he has limitless potential for the future. He is next in the line of SK Telecom T1 superstars like Boxer, iloveoov, Bisu and Fantasy. In an e-sports organization that has always been led by a transcendent superstar, Faker is that player, but Piglet is also a superstar in his own right.
If you're a basketball fan, then Faker is the Michael Jordan to Piglet's Scottie Pippen. Faker is an amazing, godly player, but he needs Piglet, his right hand man, to make him the best player in the world.

I agree with you on this entire post also thank you and the others who've written all these amazing preview coverages and what else you've written for this season.

Agreed. Faker's plays were as always godlike and flashy but Piglet played a HUGE adc. He was a class above score this series and outcarried him pretty hard

I agree. Game 1 was one of the best (probably the best) performances I have ever seen from one player on a losing team. And Piglet was probably the overall MVP of the entire series. Such amazing plays and stability.
Imo Mandu was the MVP of game 5.

Has by any chance someone seen that reddit post about the announcement of the new "eSports stadium"? I feel like people are mixing something up, or am I the one mixing it up? I just assumed it would be a bigger version of Yongsan, since that has been flowing over almost every single match of Champions Summer, for OGN to use on a regular basis. On Reddit it seems like it's an actual stadium in the traditional sense.

Another season where a super hyped top laner loses to a utility top laner in the finals, but still wins the KDA award.

Sums it up. Amazing final btw, after all those stomps we actually had an insanely close bo5 with sicks plays. Faker confirmed for best mid and piglet best adc without a doubt, I hope doublelift watched this :D
