This isn't entirely true. The mid-game comp has to apply the right type of pressure to make sure they come out on top and finish the game. If the game really does go late enough, SKTT1 definitely has a good chance. It just so happens that Korean teams are really strong at that mid-game pressure. Watch some of the other regions, and you will notice some teams giving up leads that they shouldn't have. This is mostly due to the lack of pressure applied by the early winning team.

Most korean teams highly prefer early/mid game comps over late game. Singed was a terrible pick here. I think it'd have gone okay with a better top laner who didn't pull his jungler away so much which isn't entirely necessary in 3.10. I consider karthus pretty solid at all stages of the game except early where he'll most likely just go even.

Singed pick was probably an attempt to throw mvp ozone off their game, but you have to realize Nasus isn't expected either. MVP O went tit for tat on that top lane. I agree that an early game leads does have a pretty huge impact in LoL(and so your thinking makes sense). I just don't agree that you can generalize the whole thing down to "mid-game team comp are superior". That's not to say you are wrong. You might be correct in your assumption with the current state of the game. Really just difficult to tell currently. We will see what strategies are used in the next few weeks.

MVP O went tit for tat on that top lane. The fact that Ozone got top tower so early was really huge for Ozone. The fact that SKT T1 couldn't contest the first dragon after cait and sona rotated was really big. Maybe they overestimated the 3.10 buffs to turrets cause that turret went down incredibly fast.

e: piglet picking vayne into imp's cait would have been suicide imo.
