The lure of streaming moneys is too strong for western teams, which due to lack of the infra that korea has for esports is understandable.

Honestly, as Jatt pointed out and others have pointed out. WE/IG fans really ruined it for themselves. It is a CRIME that there's not a single player from OMG on the LPL all stars. Lovelin support, Zztai mid. They couldn't have made it happen? (Though Shy/Insec too damn strong)

They just take it on and do there thing with it when it comes to gaming. They have there big sponsored teams, they have there super competitive own competition they have the structure no where esle in the world, all focused in a small area. Not to mention asian training etthic. + your right LoL hit's off in korea, just look at all the teams korea has already.

No region just decides to imitate. I've been watching all eSports scenes for a while, and one of the biggest differences between Korea and the rest of the world is that there is a gaming culture there whereby gamers are motivated to tryhard 24/7. It isn't necessarily even about getting recruited into a pro team. They do it because they think it's the way games ought to be played. No other region has this.
